Cock your ear to their funky sonic sweep and let Phylo wash away the cobwebs of the old dusty, musty music with their ocean wave of sound: A blend of rock-solid beats and hypnotic grooves, shimmering keyboards, soaring melodies and flat-out well-written songs.

Phylo's incredibly talented diverse musicians have roots from around the world: Israel, Trinidad, Portugal, India, England and Canada; and they are influenced by almost every corner on the musical map: Pop, Hip-Hop, House, Blues, Jazz & Funk. In late 2003 their worlds collided at the nexus point, the modern-day interzone, the city where every nation meets: Toronto, Canada, where they quickly became a fresh new fixture of the local music scene.

Phylo is a group of musicians lucky enough to be playing the music they want to hear. Raised on Depeche Mode, New Order, The Smiths, Sting, Peter Gabriel, U2, Madonna and Blondie, Phylo is staking out their own territory and finding their own way into the hearts & minds of those in the know. Phylo wades into the new wave and then goes deeper, plunging into a cool sonicscape that is entirely their own. As guitarist Riaz Hassan says, "We really are out here doing something we believe in."

And we are all luckier for it. And so Phylo remains, riding the crest of the Post Wave sound, diverse but united, one spirit under the groove.
