Piano Interrupted

Piano Interrupted is the project of pianist Tom Hodge and the electro musician Franz Kirmann. Equiped with computer and piano this duo explores the limits between classical Minimalism and cluboriented Electronica. Hodge's piano playing is deeply inspired by Classical and Jazz while Kirmann's proclivity is fr digital deconstruction and deep Dubstep basses.

The musical concept of P.I. is to create a congenial connection of analog and digital improvisation, in the live performance supported by a Cello and Percussion. By working with characteristic glitches, clicks and cuts and by sampling the warm piano fragments live P.I. produce their unique sound, altering between organic warmth and electronic precision.

As Piano Interrupted Hodge and Kirmann already released three much-noticed EPs on Lobe Records and Photogram Recordings. Their album has been completed recently, being mastered by Nils Frahm.
