Bio

Picasso Biography Born in Israel, but raised in Florida, Picasso Varner, separated from his mother at a very young age and lived with his grandmother for a while. She was very strict and taught him most of his etiquette. This allowed him to mature much faster than most of his peers. She also taught him never to give up and always be a leader. She taught him how to put emotion and determination behind everything. So when he expresses himself he’s able to remain true to himself and others. That’s where he developed a large part of his character. His mother came back into his life and moved Picasso and his brother to Tampa, FL where he continued his education. In school people picked on him because of his name. He wanted to change his name until his mother told him why she named him Picasso. She told him, “I named you Picasso because I feel that it’s a very well known name and I just knew that you going to be a artist of some sort one day. One art is parallel to another.” That stuck with Picasso as he blossomed. It wasn’t until he was 10 years old he realized his talent and passion for singing. Picasso’s musical influences are Michael Jackson and the Temptations. The first talent show he ever did he sang Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All”. He remembers not being nervous at all and feeling very comfortable on stage singing in front of a large crowd. When he turned 12 years old his mother moved the family to Atlanta. Picasso met this producer and recorded some of his Tracks. The producer took the tracks to So So Def Recordings and they told him that he needed more vocal training. This disappointed Picasso but he took their advice. He was introduced to Yakirah a vocal coach who, at the time, was working for LAFACE RECORDS. They have become close and dear friends. Over the years Picasso’s voice began to develop. He joined a group called Elite. One day Elite got a call from Hawaii and was invited on an entertainment tour. While on tour they opened up for NSYNC and had the opportunity to perform on MTV. This is where they met a guy named Dominique who at the time was NSYNC’s road manager. Dominique, who currently works for Universal Records, took the group under his wings and began to help them develop as artist. Elite was offered a record deal with Warner Bros. Records but the group unfortunately broke up due to creative differences. By the age of 23 standing 6’4, Picasso had proven himself to be a well-developed and professionally trained recording artist. In early 2008 he ran into an old friend who introduced him to a producer who would take his career to the next level in a short time. He signed onto their indie label “Brainstorm Entertainment Co.” and in just 6 months created what came to be a “MASTERPIECE” which became the title for his Debut CD “The Masterpiece” slated for release in spring 2010. This project consists of a POP/R&B style of songs with a twist of ROCK. You can look for this extraordinary, soulful singing sensation NOW AVAILABLE on the Brainstorm Compilation Mixtape “SWAGG” showing off his street side. Picasso has survived all of the challenges placed before him. There is no doubt that he is going to break the boundaries of superstardom and be the next R&B/POP sensation of his generation.
