Bio

Having played in the South Bay Area of California for almost four years, Picture Atlantic is comprised of Members Nik Bartunek, Patrick Chu, Ryan Blair, Rico Rodriguez, Grant Averill, & Brian Graves. These six friends all share in the belief of anti war, the appreciation of history and the beauty of poetry in which they express through their music.

Evoking the sounds of Coldplay and Muse, Picture Atlantic crafts a combination of emotional, melodic lyrics, upbeat rhythms, roaring guitar riffs, and powerful piano ballads which create a universal sound in their own style and still maintain unique.

During the initial release of of their first full length album Kleos, the band topped in Absoltepunk.net's Top 100 Bands of 2008. That same year Picture Atlantic won the chance through the Bay Area radio station, Live 105.3, to open for Britpop act Coldplay at the San Jose HP Pavillion.

Now on their third release recorded and engineered by their very own Brian Graves, Dulce Et Decorum Est, which is Latin for "It is sweet and right," is the same title of a famous poem by Owen Wilfred, who is known for his work about war. This EP is filled with emotion that shows a softer side of the band. Picture Atlantic has a deep connection and meaning to their words that you don't find in many bands and it is obvious that their lyrics are poetry just like Wilfred’s.
