Pictures of Winter

Pictures of Winter is a 5-piece metalcore band from western Massachusetts. POW is another incarnation of the band Chasing Eternity, which called it quits in March of 2006. With the rise of this new incarnation come a new sound and a new goal: To combine the mesmerizing melody popularized by bands like Across Five Aprils and Poison the Well with the unforgiving ferocity that has characterized metalcore heavyweights like The Acacia Strain and On Broken Wings. While this is the objective of many bands in the metal/hardcore scene today, POW hopes to do so in their own way so as to forge a one-of-a-kind sound. Equipped with aspirations to create this new sound, and lyrics inspired by themes that transcend boundaries of time and place, POW is on a mission to make a lasting impact in today's music scene.
The band went through member changes in early April of 2007 with Jeff Pereira, Brian Kapinos and Jens Peterson deciding to part ways with the band. The two remaining members did not give up and pursued new members. Shortly after the departure of the two guitarists and bassist, Mike and Chris found Mike Ciervo, a great rhythm guitarist (who Mike knows from school) Erik "Fingers" Tisinger with very strong lead guitar capability (who messaged them on myspace) and most recently, Nick Egerton, a sick bassist (who Erik referred to the band). Now back at full strength, the band will most definitely hang on to the same sound, but attempt to make it more powerful, more open to other types of music and show the true potential of this band.
