Bio
In addition to being a charismatic performer, Pierson Keating has always been a devout student of music. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, West Virginia University, and the University of Louisville School of Music, where he studied with Grammy-winning jazz arranger John LaBarbera. For the past seven years, he has been actively involved in the realms of both Dueling Pianos, a form of entertainment based on knowledge of standard and popular repertoire and audience involvement, and solo and group musical projects. He has been a pit musician and music director for a number of musicals. As a composer of rock, pop, classical and jazz music, he is also developing a catalog of original songs, which he is sharing with the world. Notable artists with whom he has performed or collaborated include Pittsburgh-based saxophonist Curtis Johnson, internationally-acclaimed folk-rock artist Jesse Elliott, and Troy Powers, co-writer of the hit song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Through Pierson’s already numerous years of study and countless performances in varied types of venues, from bars to recital halls to street corners, he has developed an uncanny ability to hold the attention of any room by way of his relentless knowledge of repertoire, his magnetic stage presence, his unmistakable passion for entertainment, and a consummate musicianship that could only have been brought about through years of dues-paying. His solo and group entertainment projects garner local followings wherever they appear and are fast becoming a popular source of entertainment for the West Coast and beyond.
