"The band does play with experience and complexity"

"...The band does play with experience and complexity, but is also easy to listen to, simply because there’s so much to hear that’s confirming the feelings that are involved..."
- Metal Temple

"I'll be damned if this isn't some pretty sweet grungy prog rock."

"...I've been actively avoiding this promo because of the lame name and imagery, but they pushed me into sampling it with yet another update today and I'll be damned if this isn't some pretty sweet grungy prog rock..."
- Metal Review

"...This is as good a debut as you will hear this year.""

"...I fall short of calling it prog metal. You won’t find the clichés of the genre here – no widdly instrumental wigouts or operatic vocals – just killer songs full of twists and turns and dynamic shifts. Guitars are overdriven rather than saturated in metal distortion, and there is a warm vintage 70s vibe about the production...
...This is an album that makes me want to pass my driving test just so I can blast it out of a convertible at open-mouthed hipsters...
...This is as good a debut as you will hear this year."
- This is not a scene

Bio

The idea of founding a new project besides their bands Fear My Thoughts, Backslide and Mongouse, already existed in the minds of the two brothers Martin and Hans Fischer since 2008. After the split of Mongouse they put even more focus on it and chose “Pigeon Toe” as a working title. With some rough song ideas Fear My Thoughts bandmate Norman Lonhard (now Triptykon) was asked to beat the skins and joined the band. Shortly after their well known fellow Ben Krahl (Final Kings) at bass was in, too. After Fear my Thoughts split up, Patrick Hagmann (Fear My Thoughts, Earthlimb) joined Pigeon Toe on 3rd Guitar and Synths.
After some shows and a succesful tour with Long Distance Calling they finished the recordings for their debut album "The First Perception" and were shortly after signed by Lifeforce Records who released the album on 30th of April.
