Pihsrow

BandRockHip Hop

Natural Organic untouched rock. That's what Pihsrow is all about. With influences including the Foo Fighters, the Queens of the Stoneage, Incubus, and, primarily, God, Pihsrow hopes to reach out to as many as possible with nothing more than a testimony through their music.

Biography

Carlos, Sergio, and Hans were all born in the Dominican Republic. Dave, however was not. They think he is cool anyway. Back in the day, Carlos, Sergio, and Hans saw one another at their church in Jersey City. At the time, they had little or no mutual aspirations for anything beyond church and friendship. But through church, they developed a respect and admiration for music, and eventually Hans picked up the bass, and Sergio and Carlos learned to play the drums. With his knowledge of music theory, Carlos picked up an acoustic nylon guitar. Dave, Carlos’s best friend in high school, who was already a serious trumpet player, did the same, only Dave practiced on his uncle’s vintage hollow body Guild electric guitar. And so they began.

After listening to some Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, MetallicA, Queens of the Stone Age, Steve Vai, and Incubus, Carlos and Dave fought to make rock happen often and everywhere. Carlos extended his love of music to his church youth group, the Generation of Fire. The duo played at open mics, talent shows, music festivals, and local high schools. Carlos and Dave were experimenting with different members until Carlos introduced Dave to his talented buddies, Hans and Sergio. They combined and form a single force now known (and loved) as Pihsrow.

On a retreat for the Generation of Fire, Phisrow gave its self-defining performance; they and the jumping audience came pretty frikkin close to collapsing the stage. After a cold and sweaty three days, the band made a commitment to stay with one another. And so they continued.

Carlos currently attends Berklee College of Music up in Boston, majoring in Music Education. His principle instrument is the drum set. Hans goes to Nyack College in upstate New York. Sergio attends Gibbs College in Jersey. Dave, a trumpet player at New Jersey City University, is looking to join Carlos up at Berklee, also majoring in music education.
