Bio
In early 2013, pilot/copilot was formed from former members of The Spiveys and Transmission Fields. Collectively, the members have been a part of Spectra Records and have shared stages with Athenaeum, The Verve Pipe, Jeremy Enigk, Blind Melon, Pink Spiders, and the Ataris. Their previous works have been featured in numerous publications, including Shuffle Magazine, Creative Loafing, The Charlotte Observer, Shutter 16 Magazine, Charlotte Examiner, and Charlotte Magazine and have been played on WEND 106.5 and WXRY 99.3.
Their music combines elements of the mid 90's lofi rock movement with bits of post-rock experimentation and powerpop. One of the goals of a pilot/copilot performance is to provide the audience with a little sonic variety in the form of acoustic guitars, jangly electric guitars, sickly distorted guitars, synths, pretty singing, ugly screaming, groove oriented bass, and mathy drums.
pilot/copilot is currently in the studio working on their debut release to be released in the fall of 2013.
