Pilots and Passengers

Pilots and Passengers

BandRockAlternative

Pilots and Passengers is a dynamic band playing a hybrid of driving rock and roll and experimental indie rock. Often compared to a meeting of Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi, and Guided by Voices this band has catchy hooks, powerful arrangements, and charismatic presence.

Biography

Beginning as a collaboration between Bay Area immigrant Jon Mercer(guitar/vocals) and Washington native Mica Crisp(guitar) in 2007, Seattle-based Pilots and Passengers only recently stumbled into their current line-up, now consisting of San Diego transplant Pete Bayard (bass) and Alaskan Paul Benson (drums). The band's influences are as varied as their geographical origins. From post-hardcore antagonism to bluesy Beck-inspired strangeness, a steady stream of twisted, dissonant, yet harmonius, pop sensed rock has been pouring out.

Earning early comparisons to Spoon, Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi and Guided By Voices, Pilots and Passengers unapologetically pursue a hook-laden mammoth rock sound while not insulting the intelligence of audiences. The band is currently playing shows in Seattle and around the Northwest as well as working on an EP to be released in the fall of 2009.
