Bio

"Ask yourself one thing: have I ever yearned so badly for something that I would stop at nothing to obtain it? It is this emotional drive that the word “pine” defines, and it is the driving force behind this band. It’s safe to say that for most of our lives we have longed to make music that we like, and to have everyone who hears it sing along. It is our passion to spread our sound as wide as possible."

-Mike Delp

PINE is an all original rock band out of Madison, WI.

The story of PINE begins when Mike Delp (guitarist/songwriter) and Scott Theis (drummer) met at a local musicians jam in Madison, WI. Mike and Scott began playing together, but lost contact. Several years had passed until Mike and Scott crossed paths again and met Mike Buzzell (vocals) singing with a cover band at a local festival. Next the band found James Jones (bass) and Patrick Martin (guitar) through open auditions.

PINE's high energy performances, driving guitar riffs, and unmatched vocal harmonies provide a live audience a show they will not likely forget.

The element that PINE is most noted for is the extremely talented songwriting of Mike Delp. Matt McDonough of Mudvayne comments on the songs by stating, "This is strong, heart felt, straight-shooting rock music delivered by a group of solid musicians."

What sets PINE apart from other bands is that they don't release a song, unless it has "hit" quality. Too often you'll find that bands release an album with one or two great songs and the rest is filler. "From the first song until the end of the album, the listener can tell that this band could go places" as Matheson Kamin of Exciting City Magazine in Ohio describes the band. PINE's primary goal is to release quality recordings that can compete with anything else on the radio.
