"Scandinavian shoegaze with a gothic tinge"

Pink Milk are a shoegaze duo from Scandinavia, two musicians with a near gothic sense of sound. Based in Gothenberg, the pair are part of the city's astonishingly vibrant creative scene, a community that underpins their new video. New cut 'Detroit' is a gorgeous, gossamer piece of music, the driving shoegaze guitars set against some baroque moments in the vocal line. The accompanying visuals were produced by Pink Milk themselves, with the band explaining: “The video is about two brothers hanging out and skating through a medieval town on the island of Gotland. Inspired by ’The Brothers Lionheart’ tale and eternal friendship.” - Robin Murray

"Swedish shoegazers Pink Milk summon chaotic pop vibes on “Detroit”"

Pink Milk's first original offering, recorded in a barn on the Swedish island of Gotland, is a devilish congregation of swirling shoegaze guitars, beats that shake the foundation of time, howling, windswept drones, and vocals laced with barbed wire. It's unfathomably dark in places, but Pink Milk have an innate knack for pop hooks - it's wildly addictive, stuffed to the brim with melodies to make you sing and rhythms to make you move. - Laurence Day

"The ShortListen: Pink Milk"

You have to respect a band that commits, totally and utterly, to a sound. You also have to respect a band that covers Foreigner's epic power ballad I Want To Know What Love Is. Fortunately, Gothenburg duo Pink Milk - singer and drummer Maria and guitarist Edward - have done both of these things, so they are thoroughly worthy of your attention. Detroit is the band's debut single and it opens with quite simply the most reverb-heavy, shoegazy drum sound we've ever heard. If this wasn't recorded in an aircraft hangar then we'll be amazed. It's suitably huge and dreamy but underneath the dense fog is a quality song. We don't know much about them and the track is done and dusted in under three minutes, but we'll be keeping an eye on them from now on.
