"Paradise Lakes RV Resort"

Shannon sings the Star Spangled Banner like it's supposed to be sung! And she does it well! - Deltona, FL

"Opry Review"

The youth invasion at the Sopchoppy Opry's April 29 'Stars of Tomorrow' show was a huge success! the Pink Shoelaces, Jay & Shannon Egler entertained the 'standing room only' crowd with a fantastic show that included a blend of favorite country and rock & roll tunes. The duo's rendition of the Roy Orbison classic, 'Pretty Woman' got toes tapping and 'Sweet Home Alabama', brought the house down! The Opry audience showed its appreciation to the young performers with a standing ovation!

We were really entertained, tonite!', 'We gotta gets these kids back soon!', My! my!, what talented young people!' and 'It's so wonderful to see young people like these perfoming on the Opry!' were just a few of the positive comments expressed by Opry fans as they left the auditorium. - Jesse Quigg, Opry Publicist

"Thank You Letter"

Thank you for singing The Star-Spangled Banner at our annual Valentine Festival! You sang beautiful and got our event off to a great start. I know that it is a hard song to sing, but you sure do it well! I got goose bumps while listening to your dynamic performance. It is important to remind our fellow citizens of our proud heritage and the sacrifice many have made to secure our ongoing freedom. You have our gratitude for being a fine example of a patrioc (and talented, I might add) young person and for arousing those sentiments in all those who were present.

Entertainment Coordinator - Wakulla Rotary Club

"Sopchoppy Opry Show"

Pink Shoelaces can play any of the songs they perfmed at the St. Patrick's Day Festival as long as Jay sings Roy Orbison's "Oh Pretty Woman." The Opry fans will love that! - Mr. Herman "Mac" McWaters

"Winter Festival"

"PSL nearly stole the show at the Winter Festival. I've heard talented young musicians before, but I don't think I've ever heard young musicians who were also so polished. Don't be fooled-- these aren't 'kids'... these are seasoned performers disguised as teenagers! I'm looking forward to working with them again, and soon."

Bio

Meet the Pink Shoelaces, a hot young classic variety band from north Florida. The Pink Shoelaces play their signature variety of music including rock, country, and praise songs at numerous events throughout the year. Members of the well-known Crawfordville band enjoy sharing their talents for the enjoyment of others! With the ‘Laces, expect to hear something old (The Beatles), something new (Hinder), something borrowed (Stevie Nicks) and something blue as in Shannon’s amazing rendition of Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee"!

The Pink Shoelaces (PSL) is a hot teen rock band located in the Big Bend of the Florida Gulf Coast. The Pink Shoelaces began as a brother/sister acoustic duo with Jay and Shannon Egler and has expanded to include drummer Patrick Lima, and Ben Mathews on bass. The Pink Shoelaces recorded their very first CD at the beginning of January 2007. If I Could Fly, contains eleven original songs with a wide variety of musical styles that should appeal to a variety of music lovers. Eight songs on the CD were written by Jay Egler and three songs were co-written by Jay and Shannon.

Jay Egler’s incredible guitar skills set the backdrop for PSL. He writes songs with a style that encompasses driving rock, country, bluegrass and beautiful ballads. Jay came up with the name of the band because he really does wear Pink Shoelaces! Shannon provides flawless vocal harmonies as well as performing beautiful solos. When singing Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On, Shannon frequently brings tears to the eyes of listeners and then energizes the audience by following up with Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life.

Patrick’s (Big Pat) is the “groove regulator” for Pink Shoelaces. Like Jay, Patrick is a self-taught drummer who really gets into performing on-stage as the heart beat of the band. Ben Mathews, newest member of PSL, plays bass and adds back-up vocals. Ben also plays bass at his church. He is a junior who also keeps busy with the cross-country team and National Honor Society.

Tony Rizzo plays the tenor banjo and bass for the PSL. He has played drums and bass for more than 35 years in many different bands. Tony, the adult in the band, is impressed with the high degree of musical proficiency and professionalism exhibited by fellow PSL members. Charlotte Lewis adds some fancy fiddle riffs to the PSL sound. Charlotte is a champion fiddle player who competes in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in both classical and bluegrass competitions! She is a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Tallahassee Fiddlers. Charlotte has been playing the violin/fiddle since she was 3 ½ years old.

PSL has an incredible resume of large venues including:
