Bio
PinkSlip brings forth a truly original, yet seemingly familiar, dose of their individual as well as mutual influences. Weaving together tuneful 60's Pop sensibilities with 70's Glitter Rock send-ups, while slipping in & out of D.I.Y. Punk, New Wave & yes, even a touch of Metal (long before that dreaded rap fusion!) with the greatest of ease... and that's all within a 3 min pop song for them! And let's not forget their love of sweet soaring sugar-filled harmonies, inspired lyrics, high octane garage rockers & crunchy guitars. PinkSlip is putting some much needed power (& personality!) back into Pop Music.
This colorful confection is a melodically rockin' breath of fresh air & fun in these smog filled days of musical mediocrity & disposability. The frighteningly well written results are highly addictive & completely habit forming ...and they don't even require a childproof safety lock or a prescription!
The solid structure of PinkSlip's songs bring to mind a myriad of underground & pop musical influences who fall nothing short of a solar leg explosion... you might even feel the need to shade your eyes, or at least get on the good foot & shake your groove thing. Never afraid to mix it up & see what happens, PinkSlip are a rock n' roll fans dream come true. And they should know, they're rock n' roll fans themselves!
Ladies & Gents, Power Pop is back with a vengeance!
We Love collectively & independently: The Ramones, Blondie, Enuf Z nuf, The Cars, Cheap Trick, The Go-Go's (Heatherton Co-wrote "Apology" with Kathy Valentine of The Go-Go's for their 2001 Release "God Bless the GoGo's). We also love all hair metal and GLAM bands from the 70's til now!
