Bio

Pumpernickel blasted their way into the Perth music scene in 2010 with a sound that filled a large hole in the market. Bringing back that old rock feel with influences such as AC DC and The Smithereens and blending it with a modern twist influenced by Grinspoon and many more modern rock artists that are too numerous to mention.
With an EP release in late 2010 they have been hard at work making a name for themselves around Perth. After a slight change in line up coming into 2011 they are now going at it like a bull at a gate.
Front man Paul is a local Perth boy. He first started his music career in Sydney, breaking into a thriving indie scene at the turn of the millennium. He soon had to place his musical career on hold to care for his daughter, diagnosed with cerebral palsy early in her life. He not only put off his music but his whole life.
Back in Perth he began making industry contacts again and soon was put in a position where he could make a real go of his music and with his family in toe supporting him all the way, a new Paul emerged, Vocalist, Song Writer, Guitarist, Composer.
Lead Guitarist Phil started playing as a pre-teen and has been active in the music industry for quite some time, Winning Gozzy Rocks in 1993 with his band Gate Crash he crossed paths with Paul in 2010 and now waves the Pumpernickel flag
Sarah is their newest member, hailing from South Australia where she spent 7 years in a rock cover band and working as a freelance bassist. She has made a new home for herself with her family in the southern suburbs of Perth and is a true asset the pumpernickel army.
Drummer Colin has been playing for longer than Sarah has been alive, denied a drum kit in his youth it was the first thing he bought when he moved out of home. Spending a whopping 26 years with The Sliders, he has now fallen into rank with Pumpernickel.
All together this Talented legion of Musicians have put together a must hear sound that will blow your mind. Definitely not for the feint hearted, and not to be missed.
