Lyrics

Limo Nation

Written By: Ben Foust

He’s too thin, she’s too fat
Drive-thru, value meal heart attacks
Commercials and the magazines
They tell you how to make yourself more complete

Billboard signs advertise cheap thrills
You can get it all in one little pill
Same songs on every station
Fergie, Justin, Britney it never changes…but if

You wanna leave it all behind, get away from it all
Take a vacation, from your space station, it’s a new
Revelation I know

Now come along for the ride, one and all
Now let’s start changin’, time is a wastin’
Join us in the limo nation

You’re too tall, I’m too short
Crazy people blowing up New York
Students suffer through endless tests
Coming from another phony president

Gas prices shooting through the sky
Who needs a car when it’s cheaper to fly
Fake boobs and a plastic nose
The whole world has turned into one big joke…but if

You wanna leave it all behind, get away from it all
Take a vacation, from your space station, it’s a new
Revelation I know

Now come along for the ride, one and all
Now let’s start changin’, time is a wastin’
Join us in the limo nation

This Could Never Be

Written By: Ben Foust

Intro w/Verse 1: I run away from the darkness, you stand there in the light
This fear it pulls me under, while you sleep through the night

Verse 2: This never-ending tension, building up inside my head
Where do I go I can’t look back now?
This open door is locked again…it’s locked again

Pre-chorus: As I scream in silence, can’t you hear me call your name
I’m stuck here in these thoughts of yesterday…
Thoughts of yesterday…

Chorus: I know…you were meant for me, and I know…this could never be
And I know…your lies I’ll never see them for a moment…
I know…I know

Verse 3: Your with him, I’m with her…shackled by reality
The dealer’s hand says it won’t work this time
(The cards stacked against us)
So I’ll dream you away…dream you away…

Pre-chorus: As I scream in silence, can’t you hear me call your name
I’m stuck here in these thoughts of yesterday…
Thoughts of yesterday…

Chorus w/bridge: I know…you were meant for me, and I know…this could never be
And I know…your lies I’ll never see them for a moment,
from this moment comes a lifetime,
as your pictures flash up on the screen, here comes the flood of memories, good or bad I do not know, the last one to stand is the first one to go…I know…I know…I know…I know…I know…I know…
2nd Voice: I see you…I feel you…I hear you…I breathe you (repeated)

Today

Written By: Ben Foust

All alone in this world
Nothing ever seems to turn out right
I’ve got nothing left to show
To show you just how hard I really tried

And you say, I’ve gotta push on through tomorrow
But today, am I strong enough, strong enough
To take, all the pain and sorrow…or leave it here with all
My fear today…today

It seems so useless
Does anybody out there really care
Say a word, just a simple word
Anything to let me know you’re there

And you say, I’ve gotta push on through tomorrow
But today, am I strong enough, strong enough
To take, all the pain and sorrow…or leave it here with all
My fear today…today

Some day maybe it will come to him
The Earth with always turn
I know the concept’s hard to understand
He’s not the center of the world

BRIDGE-D-F-C-G

These scars of life
Battlewounds from lessons I have learned
We can’t stop time
Even though it hurts the world will turn

Torn

Written By: Ben Foust

I smell the smoke still on your breath
I taste the salt left from your sweat
All of the things I never…said to you
If you only knew…how you

You changed me, rearranged me, you came to be…
All I’ve ever wanted
Then somehow, it all came down, I sit here now…
Torn and broken-hearted

These restless dreams keep me up at night
I fight the darkness deep inside
Behind these tears I cry I…hide from you
If you only knew…how you

You changed me, rearranged me, you came to be…
All I’ve ever wanted
Then somehow, it all came down, I sit here now…
Torn and broken-hearted

If I could turn back the hands of time
I’d give my all to you
Anything to make you mine
If you only knew…how you

-Chorus X2-

Trisha Yearwood

Written By: Ben Foust

Don’t you know, don’t you know I’m what you’re lookin’ for
As you drive on down the road I watch you from the door
As the tail lights fade into the night

Why does everything always seem so difficult
You and me we’re meant to be, we are so natural
Why don’t we give this thing a try

It’s plain to see, my love is…
under the gun, out on the run, and waiting
On my sleave, some say I’m…
Wearing it well, hurting like hell, and bleeding
Once again I guess I’ll take the fall
If I could speak, then maybe…
You would see me, and I wouldn’t be…all alone

All the things on our wings that we never say
I guess the silence gets us through yet another day
Still it tears down walls inside my head

As the night turns to light I watch the numbers change
Here I am, 6 a.m., and I’m still awake
Trying hard, so hard to escape this bed

~CHORUS~

~BREAKDOWN~

Don’t you know, don’t you know I’m what you’re lookin’ for
As you drive on down the road I watch you from the door
As the tail lights fade into the night

~CHORUS~

Wake Up

Written By: Ben Foust

Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…it isn’t you that she wants…it isn’t you that she wants

You roll over, the dream is over, she doesn’t exist
Another day, just the same as all the rest
Blurry-eyed, bound and tied, you reach for the snooze
Just to see please try again, sorry you lose

Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…and face reality
Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…it isn’t you that she wants…it isn’t you that she wants

Some think you’re wasting your time…chasing endless dreams
Like when you’re a kid, and all you want is to be
Superman, a guy with a tan, her hero
Look in the mirror, it’s much too clear…you’re a zero

Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…and face reality
Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…it isn’t you that she wants…it isn’t you that she wants

You swing for the fences, always striking out
Never crossing your mind, is the shadow of a doubt
Maybe she likes you, then again maybe not
I wish you’d wake up and these dreams would just stop

Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…and face reality
Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…it isn’t you that she wants…it isn’t you that she wants

Wake, wake, wake, wake up…wake, wake, wake up
Wake, wake, wake, wake up…wake, wake, wake up

(continue chant, along with the bridge)

Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…and face reality
Wake (wake) up…from this dream that your havin’
Wake (wake) up…it isn’t you that she wants…it isn’t you that she wants
