Bio
Pity World started as a jam trio and has gradually evolved into a five-piece progressive rock group. Based in Lafayette Indiana, Pity World features local singer, song-writer and guitarist Kyle Knoth, who has over 20 years of experience as a musician.
Pity World adds a collection of solid and seasoned musicians, including bass player Ken Thomson, drummer Brian Whitus,guitarist/ harmonica player Matt McClain. and keyboardist Brady Shmitt.
As a professional touring band, Pity World has extensive gig experience throughout the Mid-West and has performed at several high-profile venues including...The Rooftop at Indiana Beach, Circle City Toy Run, Birdy’s in Indianapolis, The Lafayette Theater, and the Music Mill in Indianapolis.
Pity World has shared the stage with many talented musician’s and bands including: Chris Schaffer (the Why Store), the Elms, Gene Deer, and L.D. Miller and the Clayton Miller band.
In 2008, Pity World played over Labor Day Weekend at Indiana Beach (Monticello IN); a marathon performance that generated such a buzz, it led to a CD production offer. Pity World also played as one of over 15 acts at the “Circle City Toy Run” in Indianapolis (Dec 2008). The band was a featured live guest on Thunder 103.9 FM and was recently the subject of a feature article in the Exponent (Purdue University student newspaper).
In 2008, Pity World released their self-titled CD, recorded live and produced by radio personality Scott Wheeler of Indianapolis. The album represents the fundamental live sound the band achieves on stage.
