Bio

Pixie Jones started cutting her teeth in the DMV music scene back in 2004 as a guest vocalist for local reggae rock band Jackie Gino. She sang with them over the next couple years including a special showcase produced by Station 6 Tours in Freeport, Bahamas alongside ska rock masterminds 33 West, as well as, local legends & winners of DC 101's "Last Band Standing" contest Rude Buddha.

In 2006, when MySpace was king of all music media and Warped Tour was the hottest ticket in town, she broke out with her first solo musical venture with hard rock outfit Broken Element. Broken Element played several DMV spots including Rock & Roll Hotel, DC9, Grog & Tankard, TT Reynolds, Firehouse Grill, & Auld Shebeen. They were successful in Bodog's Battle of the Bands with one reviewer commenting on their versatility in being able to not only slay a hard rock song with bite but also able emote a tender song with raw sincereness. They were featured on 98 Rock's "Noise in the Basement" show and even made their way onto the Flipside Festival lineup alongside musical powerhouses All Time Low, Cartel, Motion City Soundtrack, Silverstein, & many more. Fast forward a few years, she then teamed up with local guitar hero and Billboard Award winning songwriter Nick Samuels (formerly of Numa). Next on board was drumming sensation and harmony extraordinaire Jon Varga (formerly of One Third Dork and Carry The One). They then found bassist David Scherzinger who laid down the solid groove needed for their songs to really take flight. This project, known as Daughter of Stars, produced a more bluesy hard rock vibe inspired by the music of bands such as Heart, Led Zeppelin, & Wolfmother. Daughter of Stars gained a bit of local buzz playing DMV hangouts Jammin' Java, Fat Tuesdays, and Iota before disbanding in 2012. www.reverbnation.com/DaughterOfStars

In early 2013, what started as a fun casual jam session amongst friends, turned into the urban roots rock fusion project known as Tiptoe Disco who quickly gained a following with their tight 3-part harmonies, catchy hooks, & infectious stage energy. They had an undeniable musical chemistry and a favorite ailment of leaving band practice every single time with sore cheeks from smiling so much. T’was magic indeed. They had the honor of playing NoahFest 2013 alongside remarkable jam scene acts Big Something and Proverbial and then again in 2014 with prominent artists The Fritz and Big Daddy Love. They were mainstays at many DMV music venues over the next couple years until unfortunately parting ways in 2016. After taking a few years away from the stage, Pixie Jones is looking forward to reconnecting with listeners through the raw emotion & unbridled spirit she emits through her music & stage performance. Currently in the writing process & new solo material is on the horizon. www.reverbnation.com/PixieJonesMusic HOWEVER, there are some alluring rumors of a reunion show currently in the works with her beloved bandmates Tiptoe Disco!!! Stay tuned!!!
