Bio

PJ Clermont was born in Brooklyn New York on March 26th 1981 and then moved to Queens New York at the age of 14. By then, he had already been singing for 9 years since he started singing at the age of 5 years old. His love for music was so great that he would spend his young days singing whatever came on the radio...until he would fall asleep singing. The next day he would do the same for many days and even a week at a time.

When he was 7 years old, his mother gave him a boom box with a cassette deck which was his constant companion. When PJ entered high school, he joined a band as the lead singer and performed at weddings anniversaries and social events. PJ performed anywhere there was an audience, even doing free performances for the chance to entertain.

By the time he graduated from high school, his heart was set on a career in music. And so he moved to Houston Texas to live with his brother and enrolled at the Art Institute of Houston where he studied Electronic Music. But he was disappointed to find that the curriculum focused more on English, Math and Music History more than on Studio time and Electronic Music Production.

So he left the Art Institute and decided to take a job in a local hotel while he saved his money to purchase and learn how to operate the equipment in his first home studio. And so PJ poured over books , videos, and online instruction on music theory, music production, multi-track recording, mixing, sequencing and mastering. Working tirelessly through hundreds of hours of self-instruction, and two years later, PJ was finally ready to start recording his first Track on a Korg N364 Synthesizer Workstation, Boss Drum machines, a Roland digital 16 track sequencer and a condenser mic.

It was from this humble start that the Rise album was born.
PJ Clermont secured the album copyrights under his own label-- "Clermont Records" and then moved to Atlanta Georgia where he now resides, to promote his album.
