PJ Reh

PJ Reh are a group of mates who love and live to play music. We hope you enjoy our music ... PJ Reh offer a diverse mix of chillaxin’ tunes playing an easy Folk/Indie/Roots style that is suitable for all ages.

PJ Reh are an aspiring original band rising quickly in the Queensland music scene. Formed in 2007 and consisting of, brothers, Scott and Dean Rehbein along with their good friend Brad Butcher. Finding a solid drummer is not an easy task and we would like to introduce our latest recruit, Jordan Giesler. PJ Reh offer a diverse mix of chillaxin’ tunes playing an easy Folk/Indie/Roots style that is suitable for all ages. You’ll get that Sunday session feeling no matter what day of the week it is.

Brad and Scott are old school friends. The three guys used to jam together and often spoke of starting a band. Early in 2007 they decided to make it happen and PJ Reh was formed. Performing live at venues in and around Mackay and the Whitsunday’s, Brad, Scott and Dean are thoroughly enjoying every moment.

Raised in the Burdekin, Dean and Scott’s family shipped south to Mackay where their love for the beach and skate boarding took hold. With an interest in all genres of music you can’t help but notice their passion for the ocean coming through in artists such as Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. Strongly influenced by their father Peter, which explains their musical feel for a lot of 60’s and 70’s music.

Brad Butcher is a local from Mackay and has performed in the solo scene for almost 3 years. He submitted a lot of his early work to song-writing competitions in Brisbane and played regular gigs in the Coalfields before joining forces with Scott and Dean.

Scoring 14 place in the Roots category in the TripleJ Unearthed Competition and gaining airplay on JJJ, inspired the guys to push harder for the musical success that they all crave. Since then the band has evolved and so has the song writing. Scott now also plays ukalaele and sings, Dean has evolved as a guitarist and lap steel guitarist and Brad has added harmonica to the ever growing repertoire.
