PLACTON

We started out in 1997, we were four youngsters smashing guitars, amps and stuff. We got to release two records in two different record labels ('Life is Rara'-1998- and 'A'-2001-).

We toured Spain from east to west, played in some of the best venues in the main cities of our country, got a nice single on the radios for a few months with both records and played some tv-programs on main TVs.

After a while we splitted and made our own projects. Different ways and paths, and all that.

Two years ago we gathered together again and thought about giving PLACTON a rebirth. Two of the old members decided to quit music so the other two of us started recording new songs and recruiting new partners. Nowadays we are three people, we've quited smashing instruments but we've improved our song-writing, our skills on stage and our performing.

We play two guitars with pedal effects, a keyboard and drums, so we keep on switching from low-key-pedal effect guitar to the keyboard from song to song to play the "bass-parts".

We cover Nirvana and The White Stripes in our live shows (and we make pretty nice-plactonian covers!!) but our sound is a bit more like Micachu and the Shapes in their live shows. Someone said that playing live we sound like Nirvana having had a blood transfusion from Animal Collective and DeerHoof.

We've funded our own record label and we released our first EP, called Paroxismo EP, last year (which you can listen to in our soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/placton) and we're getting ready to record a new single (actually, a series of singles, one every three months).

We play like there's nothing else in the world and we take it so seriously because it's only rock'n'roll but we like it.
