Plan B's music and stage performance bring energetic and spontaneous flavor, similar to the creation of the duo itself. The two met each other a little over three years ago when they both moved out to Cali from the East Coast. MC Dave Vendley, Solan1, and MC/producer Dale Van Slyke, Select, allied together and quickly did a stint of live shows across Cali and contributed to the local college radio(KDVS) compilation featuring hip hop heavyweights J-Live, Mr. Lif, amongst others, and received praise as the 'top contenders in Davis, [California].'Hitting the Sacramento, California scene harder and faster than any of their predecessors, Plan B exemplified inconceivable potential with a fitting sound and lyrical content for both a commercial and underground following. Plan B's fast rising notoriety secured them a track on the Sacramento Kings compilation album released by Out of Bounds Entertainment Group May 2003. Before too long the state capital was too small for the quickly expanding Plan B. Taking the advice of Sacramento's premier hip hop group The Cuf, Plan B moved to Los Angeles and haven't looked back since. In the few months in LA Plan B has made a large impact in the hip hop scene. Performing with recognized acts such as Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Naughty by Nature, Deltron3030, Souls of Mischief, members of Spearhead, Aceyalone, Prince Paul, The Visionaries, The Living Legends, Blaze MC Battle champion Eyedea, The Beat Junkies, Abstract Rude, Mr. Len (Company Flow), Mr. Complex, and many more.Having independently released their debut album, 'Back to the Church' in January 2003, and most recently 'B-Sides'(a small run follow up) in June 2003; Plan B has a serious buzz in the hip hop world pushing over 5,000 units independently. Although both these CD's have sold in stores up and down the west coast and on the internet, including purchases made in Belgium, The Netherlands, Japan, Australia, and South Africa, most sales have occurred hand to hand after live performances proving their credibility as great artists/performers. In addition, With an emphasis on creative expression through sympathetic social commentary and a strong, interactive stage performance including live instrumentation, 'Plan B has a sound and a message unmatched in the hop-hop world today,' - Cal Aggie (01/03).Plan B has had two songs 'Kill A Mic' and 'Another Day' reach #1 most downloaded new hip hop in California on, both those songs were also ranked #5 most downloaded in the world. Currently working on many projects including a compilation featuring the top underground artists from around the country, which has sparked an interest in Plan B by independent and major labels alike.Courted by Out of Bounds Records in 2002 which had sold 200,000 units that year; Plan B decided to stay independent Plan B has pushed over 5,000 units independently with no distribution; their fan base ranges from all over the USA and the world.
