Biography

A powerful East Midlands based trio formed in Autumn 2008 who have recorded The Movement EP and gigged extensively around the area, including The Town Mill, Warsop Carnival's Battle of the Bands, Elton Beer Festival, The Diamond, Running Horse and most notably The 2009 Rock & Bike Festival, Draycott Showground, Derby supporting legendary folk-punk band The Levellers (we appeared on the event t-shirt!), along with coverage in the local press & media. 2010 has seen the band carry on where they left off; showcase gigs with the excellent NG26, Whitesnake UK and Dizzy Lizzy our Fake Festival debut (Gunthorpe), and recording an acoustic number at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms for ‘This is Live’ Nottingham Evening Post.......not forgetting another 3-track ep awaiting final mixing and loads of new tunes!

Our influences are wide and varied and include bands such as Live, Audioslave, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Powderfinger, MSG, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Steve Vai, Extreme, Dream Theatre, Scorpions, Stereophonics etc etc.

Although our music contains elements of the above artists, the bands musical interests, inspiration and experience combine to produce a powerful driving sound which is pleasing to the ear but not easily pigeonholed!

Planet Friday want to ROCK your world and we're available for gigs, festivals, parties and GENERAL PLANETARY DOMINATION!!!!!

The band line up as follows:

Shawn Gascoigne - Lead & Rhythm Guitar & Lead Vocal
Rich Hudson - Bass Guitar & Backing Vocal
