Planta was formed in 2003 by vocalist and guitarist Ricardo Ponce and lead guitarist Marcelo Dominguez creating a style influenced by rock, jazz, Argentinean pop, and the grit of the street in New York City’s music scene.  Under the tutelage of Ponce’s former position as bassist, Jean-Paul Le Du added his powerful rhythmic impacts and tension filled tones to compliment the singer’s velvet-like vocal melodies.  Immediately Joe Hauser clicked into the groove with Le Du’s bass, offering a full rounded sound that drew connections between Latin, Classic, and Grunge Rock into the depths of the audience psyche.  Planta flourished as an unstoppable four-piece with a huge sound.  The band grew together and developed songs that brought each personality to the table and highlighted their intricate skills.  By 2023, Victor Babilonia replaced Hauser and invigorated the psychodelic Planta-like distortions with hard-hitting youth and energy, bringing the band to another stratosphere of performance.  Audience members at festivals, bars, stages big and small gravitate towards their intense passions and find out something special about themselves in the process.

Planta se formó en 2003 por el vocalista y guitarrista Ricardo Ponce y el guitarrista principal Marcelo Domínguez creando un estilo influenciado por el rock, el jazz, el pop argentino y la arena de la calle en la escena musical de la ciudad de Nueva York. Bajo la tutela de la posición anterior de Ponce como bajista, Jean-Paul Le Du agregó sus poderosos impactos rítmicos y tonos llenos de tensión para complementar las melodías vocales aterciopeladas del cantante. Inmediatamente, Joe Hauser hizo clic en el ritmo con el bajo de Le Du, ofreciendo un sonido completo que trazó conexiones entre el rock latino, clásico y grunge en las profundidades de la psique de la audiencia.
