Plastic Acid creates rock music with a classical edge. It’s what you get when you blend a classical music education with a youth spent listening to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Metallica and Aerosmith..
While the core quintet composes their own original music, which also adapts into larger formations, they also work with many new, exciting young Canadian composers. The Plastic Acid Orchestra has showcased and/or premiered original works by Jason Nett, Martin Reisle and Mike Bell, just to name a few. Each of these young composers encompasses a wide variety of musical influences from rockabilly, blues, metal, progressive, gothic and punk. This is combined with a repertoire that includes new symphonic arrangements of Soundgarden, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, as well as classics from Beethoven and Shostakovich.
