"Review of Hard Being Strange, Released on Sea Monsters 3 Compilation Album"

JARVIS COCKER!

So, yea, they sound a lot like Pulp, but without being boring about it. It’s certainly not a ripoff, but you can hear the influence pretty strongly. There’s a bit more to the track than that, but if you hate Britpop, you’re probably not going to like this. Either way, I definitely want to get drunk to it and heckle their drummer. - Spindle Magazine

"Sea Monsters Festival Review"

Second to take the stage are Brighton four man band Plasticine, who are billed as Brit-pop and certainly look the part, with tousled hair, stubble and stripy tee-shirts. There’s a hint of Suede in the soft guitars and a bit of Blur in the choruses, but although their musical influences stem from that era, they’re not defined by it. There’s choppy, modern structures in their songs and an underlying tightness that belies the languid, stylised delivery. - Brighton Source

"Sea Monsters Festival Review"

The second band on the bill were Plasticine. When they were setting up, I saw four boys in skinny jeans preparing their instruments, which is a bit of a pet hate of mine. Thankfully Plasticine were much better than my first impressions, and were very enjoyable to watch. However, their mini-biog says that they are carrying the Britpop baton, but my memories of Britpop have more singalong choruses - Brighton Music Blog

Next up are Plasticine who, along with Tigercub from Tuesday, are committed to keeping the spirit of the early 90s alive. They claim to be carrying the Britpop baton but it’s more Supergrass than Suede. The are fun to watch. And their energy is appealing, you can’t help but channel your inner teenager and do a mini-pogo. For a full-on moshpit, however, converse and skinny jeans are advised. - Brighton Noise

"Sea Monsters Preview"

Drawing on the legacy of sound from bands like Blur, Suede and The Doors, PLASTICINE have crafted a sonic identity all of their own with inventive guitar riffs, apt melodies and big, catchy choruses! This band are an absolute must for any fan of early 90s British rock, 60s psych, and everything in between! - Brighton Noise
