About Your Demo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

First off, we would like to thank you for submitting your demo, and we
appreciate the effort you put into the work that you send us. Here at
Drive-Thru, we have succeeded in gaining control over the mountains of demos
enveloping our offices. With that said, we would like to invite you to send
in any new material you might have recorded since the previous submission,
as the material we have may be out of date.

Again, if we love what we hear, we will be in touch. Remember not to lose
hope if we don¹t get back to you after the first demo. The Starting Line
sent in four demos before anything happened for them.

Thanks again,

Drive-Thru Records - commemorative plates 2004

CONSTELLATION 3 NOV. 2004

apologies to all who have not heard from us for months about demos
and other submissions. it has been a very busy year and sometime in
the spring/summer of 2003, it became impossible to keep up with the
influx of unsolicited materials. this is to confirm that we received
your package.

sadly, gone are the days when we could make time to listen to every
demo that came through the door and write an individual response. we
long for those days as we sit here looking at boxes upon boxes of
submissions received in the last 6 months. thank you all for
thinking of us and considering us with your work. we wish we could
be of more help, but the bottom line is we don't accept unsolicited
material and we continue to operate with a regional mandate, meaning
we only release bands from montreal and eastern canada.

for those of you who were already aware of this, but sent your stuff
in as a gift or some other manner of friendly offering, we thank you
and apologise for hitting you with this form e-mail. it has also
been very difficult to keep track of the spirit and status of each
package we've received, but we can assure you that discs clearly sent
as gifts are put in a special 'gift' box and have probably already
made it to the cd player at some point.

please understand we simply don't have the time to follow up or offer
feedback on unsolicited material, other than to confirm receipt and
offer thanks, which we are now belatedly doing...

all the best with your music,

ian & don - canada, oh canada

You don't know how refreshed and excited I was upon coming across your music. I love the song "Because of You." Wow... you are exactly what we are looking for at TIN Records. We are taking submissions through Sonic Bids for the NMS... if you have any similar songs, or on the other side of the spectrum, I would like to hear those as well.

www.sonicbids.com/nms07

We are also accepting submissions by mail.
Take a moment and stop by and I'll be looking forward to seeing your name on the roster because you have my vote... And as you know you can never have your music in too many places... I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey There-
Thanks so much for sending your cd our way. I enjoyed it a great deal. I don't think we're looking to sign new bands now, but it means a lot you sent your songs to us.

Best,

Thank you for submitting your demo to Jade Tree. We are not signing any new
bands at this time however. We apologize for the impersonal nature of this
email, but due to the high volume of demos we receive daily, this is the
best we can do. Thanks again and good luck.

Hi, this is DJ Brahms from the Cutting Edge Show. I listened to your CD and while
it was not typical cutting edge music, I did quite enjoy it. I was planning on
playing it, but unfortunately most of the songs I liked had swearing in it. If it
is possible, could you please send another demo without the swearing (maybe just
edit it out) and I'd be happy to play it on my show. If you want, I could also give
a copy of your demo to our Americana director. I'm sure he'd like your style, and
you'd probably get more spins from the blue yodel guys and the Hard travelin' revue
guys. Which increases the amount of people who'll listen to you infinitely. Thanks
very much for the demo.
Sincerely,
DJ Brahms - radio free lexington

Hello Plasticine Porter,

Just thought we'd write you a short note in response to the demo that you recently sent us. We have checked it out in full, but unfortunately it's not really the kind of material that we're looking to release at the moment.

We do wish you all the best and hope that you will manage to find an outlet for your music elsewhere.

Good luck,

Ali

Bio

The soul behind Plasticine Porter works by day as an elementary school teacher. From years of playing garages and basements as a trippy bass player, he is finally ready to step out onto the porch. The rich culture of mountain music in the heart of the Blue Grass, Lexington, Kentucky, has permeated his every pore and, through a deep injection of psychedelic pop, explodes with this demo. Plasticine Porter has musical training, along with his teaching degree, from the University of Oregon. He has worked as a sideman in a multitude of groups ranging from Jazz, Cajun, Pop Rock, and Hawaiian Luah to the Blues.

Recently the project has been transported to the Mecca of Sin: Vegas, Baby! Playing to a whole new audience, with much criticism and a higher level of showmanship, Plasticine Porter is carving out their name in joshua trees, yucca and mesquite.
