Atmosphere, emotion, edge: This is the band's signature sound....Like its name, the band's music is about opposites enmeshing--the organic with the synthetic, the introverted with the extroverted, the delicate with the abrasive, the dreamy and ruminative with the hard-hitting and confrontational....Sometimes dark and brooding, sometimes tender and blissful, always searching, ever restless, the songs move from intimate confession to outspoken skepticism, as lyrics push to the brink of poetry without spilling over.
