Bio

Masashi Osaku (Japan)

Masashi Osaku is a DJ specializing in Electro/Progressive/Tech/Acid House and is a master of the decks delivering fabulous mixes with the highest level of quality and class. He is constantly learning, improving and searching the world for the newest, hippest tunes to bring to his mixes. He has dedicated himself to pushing, experimenting, and developing the House scene in Japan hoping to give the Japanese audience, the ever popular UK/IBIZA experiences.

The list of gigs and events that Masashi has performed at just in the last few years seems endless: asides from countless events in Japan, Masashi has also enjoyed an invitation tour of Thailand in 2008, and playing at Bedtime Stories Switzerland in 2009, the Miami Music Conference in 2009, the Plastik Philosophy launch at Pacha London alongside Cut La Roc, Afghan Headspin and TRAFIK (Global Underground), and more recently, the following events across South Africa:

MCQP in Cape Town (19th December 2009)
Truth in Johannesburg (26th December 2009)
Mask NYE in Cape Town (31st December 2009)
UBM Club, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (29th January 2010)

The most important thing to Masashi is the experience the audience gets from the music. When important DJs come to Japan from foreign countries, he co-stars without fail.

Chris Stock (South Africa)

2009 broke Chris Stock when he was listed on the prestigious Urban Wave webpage (Camel) with the top six of South Africa’s “Superstar” DJ’s; international acts such as John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Howells, Deep Dish, Jimmy Van M, Carl Cox to name a few. AMN Events DJ listing & international audiences can now look forward to a world tour which will cover all corners of the globe starting with his Japan tour with our own house legend Masashi Osaku. Established as a leader in the ‘underground house’ scene in Africa, this South African based producer is at the cutting edge of the industry with the latest approach to DJing; not choosing to play conventional vinyl or CD’s but instead having entered the digital realm of live music production, utilizing state of the art technology.

His genre of music does not fit into one particular sound or direction & is not restricted to one genre; instead there are elements of many, drifting seamlessly between beat driven progressive house, blistering tech. & minimal agendas. When performing live, audiences can expect an emotional ‘electronica’ ride combined with mid tempo grooves. His sets often lead to something unexpected such as Hip-Hop or classic dance, where the crowd goes wild.

Rick Charles (Holland)

Rick Charles began his DJ career at the tender age of 15, when he took to the decks in a bar owned by his parents. The manager of his parents’ bar was so impressed with his mixing skills that he then became the official resident DJ.

Besides DJing at the bar, Charles visited clubs throughout Holland for inspiration. This is where Charles came in to contact with DJ Jean, the resident DJ of Club IT in Amsterdam - the most famous club in Holland at the time. Jean was impressed by Charles’ skills and it wasn't long before DJ Jean asked Charles to take over the wheels of steel on Fridays. This allowed his career to sky rocket, most markedly so after playing a set at the famous radio station 'Radio 538'.

He performed at many clubs and events (Trance Energy, Impulz Festival, Twstd and Queensday) and played with some of the biggest DJs, to name a few; Tiesto, Klubbheads, DJ Jean, Rank 1, Johan Gielen, Erick-E, Kai Tracid, Erick-E, Marco V, Carl Cox Audio Bully’s , Oscar Mulero and Joel Mull.

In 2001 Charles made a big change in his style of music and followed his heart. He gave up the opportunity of a commercial breakthrough and instead put his passion and emotion into Techno music. Beside DJing, Charles also began dedicating more time to producing records. His own productions and remixes were released onto well known compilation CDs. In 2003 he participated at a famous Techno DJ contest in Amsterdam called 'Twstd', which he won - a great boost for his career as a Techno/Minimal/House DJ. This was followed by many more appearances at some of the biggest indoor and outdoor events and clubs in Holland and abroad.

By 2009 DJ Rick Charles made a return to the scene and decided to rekindle his career. It wasn't long before he was approached for demos of his work, and consequently he was signed to the UK label, Plastik Philosophy in the Autumn of 2009. In the short period since then, Charles has appeared at the world famous Pacha in London, The Driver London and showcased alongside Hed Kandi label at the renowned Honey Club in Brighton.

2010 looks to be a very busy year for DJ Rick Charles...
