The Band: Platinum is a classy and dynamic ensemble that plays the music that you have always loved. With an emphasis on the wonderful songs from the great American songbook, Platinum performs the old and new standards that have enriched our lives with the words and music that express our feelings and provide a sensual backdrop for our most memorable moments.
The Singer: Platinum features Davette Fulford, singing the best songs of the 30's, 40's & 50's through today, including songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Diana Krall, Barbara Streisand, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, James Taylor and Stevie Wonder.
The Musicians: Backing Davette are professionals, soloists themselves, with years of experience performing with many of the most famous entertainers in the world. Listed in their resumes are recordings, television shows and live performances with such singers as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Johnny Mathis, Lionel Ritchie, The Carpenters, Andy Williams, Barry Manilow, Ray Charles, Burt Bacharach, and many, many more down through the musical alphabet even to include Mannheim Steamroller and Frank Zappa! There is the professional expertise and ease, developed through years of experience evident in these musicians.
The Music: Platinum is versatile and always on the lookout for new songs that fit within the concept of the group. Many of the newer songs they play are becoming the standards of the future – those by artists like Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Billy Joel, Carly Simon and James Taylor. Naturally, there are featured instrumental numbers in the play list and this band is quite capable of getting down deep and dirty. But in their performances, they want their audiences to be able to hear the melodies and the exquisite lyrics of the great songs they perform. The possibility of having an intimate conversation during a Platinum performance is an integral part of the experience.
