"Cole Bradley Talks Newest Single “What We’ll Get Into” – Exclusive Interview"

Cole Bradley is country’s newest stud to hit the Music City airwaves this summer and Celeb Secrets Country is giving you everything you need to know about him.

Growing up listening to the likes of Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, Bradley first graced the stage at the young age of five. Since then, Cole has fostered a passion for performing and sharing his music with others. Originally from Western Canada, Cole moved to Nashville to expand his musical career, which he said “feels like an entirely different world.”

Last month, Bradley released his new single “What We’ll Get Into” and we just CAN’T get enough of it. The fun and upbeat tune will leave you craving more for the perfect summer vibe.

“This is a true story of a couple years back when I started dating this girl. I wrote this song about how it feels to jump into a relationship and just click with that person right away,” explains Cole, about this single. “This song describes the ‘honeymoon phase’, right at the beginning of any relationship when there are no worries or drama, etc. Everybody’s been there, it’s crazy, chaotic, fun and nothing else matters. I had such a blast writing this song with my fellow co-writers and working on such a fun and exciting story.”

CS Country caught up with Bradley recently to talk about his music and what’s to come for the rest of the year. Take a read at the Q&A below, and catch him at perform at The Local on June 7th at 4:30PM during the 2018 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN.

You released your single “What We’ll Get Into,” which is such a fun song! What made
it stand out to make it your single?
Cole Bradley: “This song was the perfect first single as it sets the tone for the upcoming record!
“What We’ll Get Into” has a driving groove, unique percussive elements as well as a
super fun story. This song itself lets the audience know what to expect from the new
record – fun, summer, up-beat music!”

Are you making a music video for this song? If so, what can you tell us about it?
Cole Bradley: “As of right now, we don’t have a plan to shoot a music video as our next single we
will be doing a huge music video release. Although, if the fans want a music video for
“What Well Get Into” I am sure we can deliver sometime in the future!”

How would you describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you yet?
Cole Bradley: “Let’s just say, if Kenny Chesney and Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty morphed into one person – it would be close to how I feel my sound would be. I grew up
listening to country music but I always enjoyed pop music – I’d like to say that my
sound consists of country music writing with funky pop production elements. My
heart is in country music, so all my songs are from an honest place and a humble
story. I just like to add a few cool elements whether it be a cool bass riff or heavy
percussion (like the pre-chorus in WWGI).”

What make you different from other country-songwriters?
Cole Bradley: “I could argue the thing that makes me different from other country-songwriters is
that I’ve experienced a lot at the age of twenty that maybe those a lot older have not
experienced. I dealt with loss at a young age, which really taught me how precious
life is. I have also been lucky enough to travel to third-world impoverished countries
which gave me some real perspective on this world and how privileged we are here
living in North America. These experiences have allowed me to write songs that may
be different than the “rest of the pack” as I learned a lot about life in my twenty
years. Although, having said that, I know that I still have so much more to learn!”

Are you working on any new music? If so, what can you tell us about it?

Cole Bradley: “Yes, we started writing and recording this new record over a year and a half ago and
it was such a blast! The songs we are about to put out have a mix of everything –
whether it’s a rowdy party track or a heartfelt ballad I feel like we have songs that
anyone at any age can relate to! My previous record was recorded when I was in
high school, whereas this one has a little more depth as I’m in this stage of my life
where I am trying to figure out exactly where I want and need to be. I am very proud
of the finished product and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

What can we expect from you the rest of the year?
Cole Bradley: “New music, new stories and new shows! We have all these new stories to tell
through these new songs we are releasing and we are expecting to have shows all
over North America. I’m looking forward to getting back up on stage performing for
old fans, and of course new fans as well. The live show is why I play music so I’m
ready to get out there and give it my all!”

What advice do you have for other aspiring singer-songwriters?
Cole Bradley: “For me, the most important thing an aspiring singer-songwriter can do is take care
of their music and craft. It’s easy for an artist to get lost in the business side of this
industry but if someone has a solid live show and GREAT music – the rest will sort
itself out!”

Since we are Celeb Secrets Country, what is a secret or fun fact about you?
Cole Bradley: “Great question! What many people do not know is that I did some acting growing up
and was the lead in my high school production of “Footloose.” I had to do a dance
solo in the play and man was it awful! But in the end, it was all fun. Acting is for sure
a passion of mine so maybe one day I can combine country music in the theater! Who knows?” - Celeb Secrets Country

Country Fancast was able to catch up with the rising star and get some extra insight into what makes him tick. Check out the full interview below!

1) Country Fancast: “How would you describe your recent transition from Canada to Nashville, Tennessee?”

Cole Bradley: “Moving to Nashville has been incredible, it’s really opened my eyes to the country music industry. Coming from Western Canada, Nashville feels like an entirely different world. The culture, the weather, and being a ‘small fish in a large pond’ in the music business has been shocking and at times challenging. But the best part is that I’ve met some of the kindest people here and I love how everyone in the music community is so collaborative. There is so much amazing talent here that it makes me want to work harder every day and push myself to new heights.”

2) CF: “What has opening for country music artists such as Thomas Rhett, High Valley, Chad Brownlee, and Brett Kissel, taught you as a performer?”

CB: “I’ve been very fortunate to open for incredible acts over the past couple years and while their talent and work ethic is truly incredible, the thing that is most admirable is what great human beings these people are. I believe all these artists have had tremendous success in North America not only because they are exceptional talents, but also because of their professionalism and the way they treat people. These artists remind me that being a good person is the most important quality in life.”

3) CF: “Do you have a favorite place to play live in Music City right now?”

CB: “I love how Nashville offers so many great venues for artists to perform at, but my favourite has to be The Bluebird Cafe. I’ve been very fortunate to have played there twice in the past six months. The history of the Bluebird is astonishing and to have the opportunity to play the same stage as so many of my heroes before me (Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, etc. ) is something that will stick with me for as long as I live. Playing this venue is a ‘story for my future grandkids.'”

4) CF: “If you could play ‘song swap’ with any past or present country music artist, who would you choose?”

CB: “Oh man, this is a great question. Although, I have so many artists I would do a ‘song swap’ with, Kenny Chesney would have to be at the top. In my opinion, Kenny’s songs connect to so many different people in many different ways. Whether he’s belting out a beach anthem or a sentimental ballad, Kenny’s music has the power to make people ‘feel’ something. And that’s why I started a career in country music. I would be lying if I said I didn’t wish I wrote songs like ‘The Good Stuff’ or ‘I Go Back’ as these are two of my favourite songs in country music.”

5) CF: “What inspired your new single, “What We’ll Get Into”?”

CB: “This is a true story of a couple years back when I started dating this girl. I wrote this song about how it feels to jump into a relationship and just click with that person right away. This song describes the ‘honeymoon phase’, right at the beginning of any relationship when there are no worries or drama, etc. Everybody’s been there, it’s crazy, chaotic, fun and nothing else matters. I had such a blast writing this song with my fellow co-writers and working on such a fun and exciting story.”

6) CF: “Where do you do your best creative brainstorming and songwriting?”

CB: “For me, songwriting is all about inspiration. Whenever I’m inspired, that is when I do my best writing. In terms of place, I prefer to write in places where I’m most comfortable and can be myself. Whether it’s by the lake on the dock or in my living room, a place where I can get into a different or unique headspace is where I like to write my songs.”

7) CF: “Do you have any advice to share with other country music hopefuls looking to break into the Nashville scene?”

CB: “If I had any advice for those looking to break into this industry it would be, ‘Take care of the music, and the music will take care of you.’ I heard this quote three years ago from a mentor of mine who is a phenomenal bass player here in town and it hasn’t left my mind since. Sometimes it’s tricky for artists in this industry as they spend so much time worrying about the business that they forget about or lose sight of the music. If you have great songs, an awesome live show and you believe in the story you’re telling, then I believe the rest will sort itself out.”

8) CF: “Which events on your 2018 schedule are you most excited about?”

CB: “We’ve been working on this ‘new’ project for almost two years now so I’m so excited to finally be sharing all these songs with my fans. There’s going to be some super fun events coming up over the next few months, so make sure that ya’ll head to my social media accounts (@playitcole) for all the upcoming announcements. We’re planning some great festival slots over the summer that unfortunately I can’t release just yet as we’re finalizing all the details. Ultimately, I can hardly wait to get back on stage over the summer and share all these new songs with all the amazing country music fans around North America. Being on stage, singing my stories and meeting new people is why I play music and I can’t wait to do it again soon. The summer ends with a big bash at the Bluebird Cafe on my 21st birthday in September.”

"EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Country singer Cole Bradley tells us what he’s getting into this year"

Here at CelebMix, we support so many rising artists and we love to see where they’ll end up next.

We had the wonderful opportunity to chat with up-and-coming Country artist Cole Bradley who just released his very first single “What We’ll Get Into.” Not to be corny or anything but we’re getting into Cole’s music and this is just the very beginning! Who knows where we’ll be seeing him next? Actually, we do know. Next month, he’ll be performing at The Local on June 7th AKA the first day of CMA Fest! Obviously, the perfect way to kick off the festivities.

Read on below where we got to chat with Brad about his early beginnings, how his latest single came about, and of course, his future goals!

CelebMix: We’ll get into your new music but first off, for our readers learning about you, how did your start as a country music singer begin for you? When was the moment you realized pursuing a career in music is something you want to do?

Cole Bradley: I always loved country music. I grew up listening to Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks at three-years-old in my car seat. From the age of five, I took tons of singing lessons, was in multiple choirs and started playing my own shows. However, the moment I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in music was the summer of 2009. It was that summer that I discovered Kenny Chesney and I spent every day listening to his Greatest Hits 2 record. The way those songs connected with me inspired me to start writing songs of my own and recording them in hopes that people could feel the same connection to my songs.

CelebMix: When was the first time you picked up a guitar or started singing? Do you remember the first song you sang?

Cole Bradley: I started singing in front of audiences when I was five years old. Whether it was a part of a choir or a singing recital, I always had (and still have) a passion for performing. One of my first songs I ever sang by myself in front of an audience was “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon and Garfunkel. I was around ten years old when I first picked up a guitar. After a year or so of battling with power chords, I learned real chords and the first song I played on guitar was “History in the Making” by Darius Rucker. It’s still one of my favourite songs to this day.

CelebMix: I read that you also recently just moved into Nashville. I’ve been there and man, that place is surrounded by talented people such as yourself! How’s it been living in that city so far?

Cole Bradley: Living in Nashville truly is a blessing. Every time I drive by the downtown skyline, I can’t help but feel super thankful that I get to live here. The food, the music scene, and especially the people are just a few of the reasons that I love Nashville.

CelebMix: Being that you are from Canada, what are some of the biggest differences now that you live in Nashville?

Cole Bradley: Obviously, the music scene is incredibly different. In Canada, the country music “pond” is a lot smaller. In Nashville, I’m a small fish in a ginormous pond. I love the challenge of being a small fish. Here, the culture is different but the biggest similarity with my home in Canada is that the people are so amazing. The people here in Nashville are just like those back home – kind, sincere, and genuine.

CelebMix: Now let’s talk about your latest song “What We’ll Get Into”! It’s definitely a fun summer song. What was the process like for this song – how did it get its push off the paper and into the studio?

Cole Bradley: We actually wrote this song while in the studio but the lyrics came from a real life experience of mine. I was dating a girl at the time and we were in what I like to call “the honeymoon phase.” This is at the beginning of any relationship where there is no drama or worries. It’s just fun, adventurous, and super exciting. Because the inspiration was there – it was easy for my co-writers and me to tell the story.
CelebMix: How was it in the studio putting this song together? Is the final product pretty much everything you wished for or did you envision the song completely different from the beginning?

Cole Bradley: The final product is everything I wished for and beyond. I give so much credit to my producer Sandy Chila as he truly took this song to new heights. The driving guitar lick at the beginning of the track really set the pace for the entire song and Sandy’s had many funky elements ideas that we could add throughout the song like the groovy pre-chorus. We weren’t sure what to expect after we wrote the lyrics, so to see what Sandy came up with on the production side was truly remarkable.

CelebMix: Is this song a possible segway into an upcoming EP or album? Any plans for another upcoming single release?

Cole Bradley: Yes, “What We’ll Get Into” is only the start of what’s to come in the next few months. You can expect a bunch of new songs coming out throughout the summer and fall. We started this project over a year and a half ago so it’s super exciting to finally release new music. The next single is going to be such a fun release – unfortunately, I can’t tell you the title of the track just yet but you can expect this party anthem coming your way real soon.

CelebMix: Speaking of the future, what are your future plans as a country music artist? What do you hope to be doing by the time the year wraps up?

Cole Bradley: As a country musician, my hope is that I can share my music with as many people as possible. Whether it’s the song releases or through my upcoming live shows, I hope my songs will be able to resonate with my fans and new listeners alike. The plan is for me to keep improving my craft, writing songs that are true to myself as an artist and finding unique ways to share them with my audience. By the time the year wraps up, I hope that I’ll be in a place where I’ve made some new fans and they love all the new music. If that happens, then I’ll be one happy dude!

"Enter for a Chance to Win a Cole Bradley Arctic Outdoor Cooler"

Rising country singer Cole Bradley has embraced southern living with his rowdy new song, “Happy Hour.” Inspired by a drinking game he played with friends, Bradley knew the song was different from the moment he wrote it with Michael Fitzgerald, Sandy Chila and Alex Dezen in 2016.

“‘Happy Hour’ was one of those songs that was special right from the moment it was written,” Bradley tells Sounds Like Nashville. “The unique bass groove, fun lyrics and driving chorus create a solid party anthem that anyone looking to have a good time can relate to. My hope is that people can kick back, have a beer and blast this track all summer long.”

Cole Bradley and radio DJ Paul Ciliberto from Thunder 102 Monticello, NY

The song’s unique ability to tell a story of summer fun encouraged the Canada native to partner up with Arctic Zone for a special artist-branded outdoor cooler.

“Three of my favorite things in life are summer, cold drinks and great music! When looking for a merch item I wanted to see if there was a way to incorporate all three of these things. When I came across the Arctic Zone cooler with bluetooth speakers, I knew this would fit perfectly with ‘Happy Hour,’” says Bradley. “In my opinion, there is nothing better than keeping your drinks cold in a cooler while the cooler plays music!”

"Cole Bradley Celebrates ‘Happy Hour’ With ‘Beer in Mexico’ [Exclusive Video"

Canadian-born country artist Cole Bradley is celebrating his newest single, "Happy Hour," with a series of covers debuting exclusively on The Boot. His first song of choice: Kenny Chesney's "Beer in Mexico;" readers can press play above to watch.

Stationed poolside on a sunny day (with a giant, inviting unicorn float hanging out in the water behind them), Bradley and his bandmates jam "Beer in Mexico" on acoustic guitars and a simple drum kit. Bradley calls Chesney his hero, and "Beer in Mexico" is one of his favorites in the country superstar's catalog.

"I believe that Chesney 'sets the bar' in country music," Bradley tells The Boot. "Don't let its driving groove and hooky tag fool you -- "Beer in Mexico" is really a contemplative song about a person who's looking to find their way in life and realizing that a beer and beach may be a good way to reprogram."

Originally released on Chesney's 2005 album The Road and the Radio, "Beer in Mexico" became Chesney's first self-penned single to hit No. 1. It's been certified gold.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Bradley first found himself in the spotlight at the age of five. In more recent years, he was selected as a finalist in the inaugural year of Project Wild, a Canadian artist development program, and was previously nominated for the Fan's Choice honor at the Alberta Country Music Association Awards. He's now based in Nashville.

Bradley's single "Happy Hour" is available on YouTube and Spotify. Fans can check back to The Boot each Tuesday in August (Aug. 14, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28) at 5PM ET for a new "Happy Hour" cover. - The Boot
