As it falls under the genre of Alternative rock, it is in fact unique for all listeners. Very well thought out, and a perfect song to jam too.
We believe that this group alone can gain a huge fanbase and be successful very soon, even though they came together as a band so recently.
It is so exciting to hear something that sounds so new and refreshing.

From the Artist: We are Playingwithfire., and we are a band from Toronto that started amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic. We (Campbell Coleman and Brandon Roussell met through school and decided to start writing together. This song was released on October 9th, and is an upbeat alt-rock song that took inspiration from bands like Twenty One Pilots and Green Day. playingwithfire. is a synth-rock duo with a focus on creating music that blurs the lines between a wide range of influences. From the depth and energy of electro-rock, down to the melodic edge of post-punk, there are no rules. The Canadian outfit consists of Brandon Roussell and Campbell Coleman, who joined forces to create a melodically striking sonic formula that still retains plenty of energy. The two got together as the COVID-19 pandemic was raging around the world, and managed to fill in the gaps and elude distancing through zoom calls and remote sessions, which eventually led them to develop a fantastic debut single. One Step Closer. The song appeared on the front page of Melody Bites, a prominent music blog. The exposure contributed to the song’s success, earning the pair over 1000 streams! The second single, Shivering,” followed soon after, and both songs are now on heavy rotation at Liquid Rock Radio, an indie station based in Niagara Falls.
The duo’s singles are indeed a perfect taste of their attitude and charismatic approach to songwriting and performance, going for an immediate and earthy sound that favors the human connection between the musicians, rather than hiding their work under an excessive layer of studio trickery. If you are a fan of artists such as Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, Simple Creatures, The 1975, Dead Rituals, and Royal Blood, this one is definitely going to be right up your alley.
