Bio
At 1999, the carioca musician Conrado Muylaert met with some high school friends to found the pop / rock group Playmoboys. Formed by Gui Faria, on guitar, Thi Flores on bass, and Leandro Barreto on drums – and Conrado, who composes, sings and also plays guitar - the quartet has the brand-sounding music mixed with a strong footprint with arrangements showing guitars and raspy vocals.
Clearly influenced by names like The Beatles, Nirvana, Capital Inicial, Skank, The Libertines, among others that make up the new generation of music stars, they spent many years in the underground grating of Rio de Janeiro, performing and composing their own material, to launch in 2005, his first CD career. Namesake, the work written by sound designer Vitor Farias at the legendary brazilian studio “Nas Nuvens” (In The Clouds) in the production of Marcelo Sussekind - which also involved playing bass and guitar on some tracks - received praise from critics and soon made the band earned the about the local public.
From its 10 songs, all written by Conrado, at least five have the right place on the radio. “Só Pra Começar”, the first track, is one of them. Composition made from a landmark guitar riff, the melody takes us back to the sound of the 60s. "Eu posso ouvir os seus problemas, se quiser. Posso até te descobrir, vai ser melhor. Não me importa se vai ser tão perfeitinho nem no que vai dar” (I can hear your problems, if you wish. I can figure it out, it’s gonna be better. No matter if it’s gonna be so perfect, neither where it will be) – that’s what says the letter, that song is the first single released on the radio.
Others who follow this line are “Anos Perdidos” and “Onde Você Ficou”. With both feet on the “Jovem Guarda” (brazilian movement based on The Beatles’ and other 60s english bands), they are highlighted and marked point in the setlist. As “Simples Engano” and “Playmoboys”, which have a touch more rebellious, but not less pop.
But there is still space for different “Tempo de Acreditar”, “Tudo Que Você Quiser” and “Lá de Onde Vem o Nosso Amor”, others excellents options for those who likes a direct sound with no disgust - foot in the door and punch in the face.
Since launching the business, the Playmoboys has been trying to spread their sound in radio, concerts and festivals including the “BdeBanda” and “Laboratório Pop Festival” in Rio de Janeiro, and the “Festival de Alegre”. This year the band released two new songs, "Tarde Pra Esquecer " and " Todos Cresceram Mas Ainda Sou o Mesmo” making them available for free download on the internet.
