Pleasure Seekers

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

Making music through travel, shared experience, and love.

Biography

Under the snows of Syracuse and the sunny skies of LA, Hans Garon and Jessica Christine have been cultivating a musical partnership that is built to last. While studying classical guitar and voice, respectively, at Syracuse University, the duo experienced a unique creative spark that could not be denied. After graduation, Hans went on to pursue a graduate degree at the prestigious Yale University School of Music, while Jessica travelled across the country to the University of Southern California to earn a degree of her own.

Following a fortunate reunion in November of 2009, Hans and Jessica pooled their rich musical backgrounds into a new project, fueled by their past as best friends and classmates at Syracuse. Pleasure Seekers was born, scrawled on a napkin at El Cholo—the famed Los Angeles Mexican eatery—on a crystalline Californian night. Since that evening, Pleasure Seekers has been writing, developing, producing and performing original music that cannot quite be defined. It is, in fact, the great intangible that defines the Pleasure Seekers’ method of operation; to share their experiences and zest for life through an orgiastic fusion of funk, jazz, R&B, and folk (with a sprinkling of other styles too!). Hans’ versatility as a guitarist and vision for production is at the helm, while Jessica’s sensitive voice and artistic whimsy plays counterpoint.

Hans and Jessica strive to take listeners on a unique musical journey with each new song they release. Stemming from their extensive travels, many Pleasure Seekers songs express a deep love for all things natural. Most recently, their single, “The Mountains Are Calling,” (inspired by the scenery of Yosemite Nat’l Park and a quote by naturalist John Muir) was featured on SongDoor TV—an industry staple for singer/songwriters and producers. Current projects include the upcoming release of their debut album, as well as the release of singles in a variety of styles. The Pleasure Seekers’ credo is a simple, yet potent one—to celebrate life through music and love.

Lyrics

The Mountains Are Calling

Written By: Hans Garon/Jessica Christine

The sun shines down on this tiny patch of heaven from way up high,
The wind keeps whispering there’s something ‘round the corner for me to find,
So I’m gonna leave here tomorrow,
To answer the call of the mountains that call my name,
I want to lay down in the grasses of the open plains,
And wake up in the rain,

The mountains are calling me and I must get to higher ground,
The mountains are calling me to pack my bags and leave this town,
The mountains are calling me and I must go,
Back to the place that I call home,
They’re calling me,
The mountains are calling and I must go,

The clouds roll by without a destination in the sky,
The road winds deeper into my imagination as time goes by,
So I’m gonna be there tomorrow,
To capture the heart of the mountains that meet the sea,
I want to hear the wind come blowing through the aspen trees,
While the birds sing to me,

The mountains are calling me and I must get to higher ground,
The mountains are calling me to pack my bags and leave this town,
The mountains are calling me and I must go,
Back to the place that I call home,
They’re calling me,
The mountains are calling and I must go,

To find myself out on the road,
‘Cause being in the city never felt like home,
I belong to the mountains,
The mountains that call my name,

The mountains are calling me and I must get to higher ground,
The mountains are calling me to pack my bags and leave this town,
The mountains are calling me and I must go,
Back to the place that I call home,
They’re calling me,
The mountains are calling and I must go,

The mountains are calling me and I must get to higher ground,
The mountains are calling me to pack my bags and leave this town,
The mountains are calling me and I must go,
Back to the place that I call home,
I belong to the mountains,
The mountains that call my name
