" I know I'm different during this time in hip hop and rap, but when people listen to me their face looks like I'm something their quite familiar with," stated by the 21 year old Houston native. Jamal Jones or soon to be known as "Pleyg"(pronounced as Plague) has accomplished in four weeks that some new coming artist couldn't due in four months. The mixtape that is getting this kid so much credict is intitled "Hit Em Where It Hurtz: Pleyg vs. Riva" Him and another artist under the label he formed (D.O.R Records) by the name of Riva Rhymez recorded this 18 track project with mid par quality that was mix and mastered at home by them, a closet for a recording booth and no budget. Yet, still from this they gained enough respect as artist for their next upcoming projects to get airplay at over 325 college radio stations, 70 national radio stations , singles spinned frequently on Shade 45 Radio on Sirius, a chance to work with mixtape great Dj Whoo Kid, affiliation with his establishment (Shadyville Djs) and serious exposure around the U.S, Europe, Japan and Austrailia. So far the PVR tape has hit his hometown, major cities in the U.S and Europe as well and still is growing. His know to carry on his records a strong emotion in what he's saying from topics on his life, other lives or just all around etc. "Sometimes" for example focused around the downfall of peer pressure, drug use and child endangerment. And was presented with a strong yet mellowed beat with a chorus to finsh the masterpiece perfectly. So after hearing the songs and seeing how much he has accomplished so far, only time would tell whats next for him. But whatever it is prepare for it to be BIG!!!
