Following 2015's breakthrough radio-hit "On & On", Byron Bay's PLTS (Pilots) have just released their latest track "Astoria". Offsetting its immediate anthemic qualities with lyrical displays of uncertainty, the duelling vocals create the song's anxiety-powered propellant, pitting calming reason against desperate pleas. - Rolling Stone
PLTS (pronounced Pilots) are an indie-rock band from Byron Bay that seem prime to follow in the footsteps of fellow rockers from the land down under (ACDC, Silverchair, Tame Impala). With influences from punk to soul, the foursome are ready to take flight with their new single, “Astoria.” The brooding, hard-charging track featuring Kit Bray’s soulful croon, has a Kings of Leon feel that has established them as one of Australia’s new artists to watch. - Crave Online
Byron Bay quartet PLTS (pronounced 'pilots') shone at Splendour In The Grass this year having won the local triple j Unearthed competition, and now they're following it up with a brand new banger, Astoria. - TheMusic.com.au

Bio
PLTS (pronounced
Pilots) are a four-piece indie-rock band from Byron Bay, Australia.Forming in late 2012 and drawing from previous band
experience and a solid friendship, PLTS was founded around a passion for
playing honest, feel-good music. The group secured Nick Didia (Powderfinger, Pearl Jam, Karnivool) to engineer their
first EP at Studios 301, which set PLTS up for a series of DIY tours around
Australia, performing with acts such as Hockey
Dad, Harts & Kingswood. In 2015 PLTS entered the studio with Sydney producer JP Fung (Last Dinosaurs, Art Vs Science,
Josh Pyke) to explore and uncover exciting new elements that would
unknowingly push the band to a new stage of development. With influences from punk through to soul, PLTS’s strengths
shine in their musical diversity, backed up by the incredible vocal ability of
front-man Kit Bray. Through exploration, PLTS moulded several elements to
deliver their 2015 single ‘On & On’.
The ever humble four-piece were surprised to see ‘On & On’ become a viral
hit on Spotify and land them sold out shows as well as a coveted slot on 2016’s
Splendour In The Grass. In August 2016 the group will release their follow up single
‘Astoria’. Thematically, a darker,
brooding track, ‘Astoria’ continues on with the band’s high-octane format
whilst exposing a dirtier, more intimate side. Partnering again with JP Fung on
production duties, Astoria is a captivating showcase of PLTS across catchy
melodies and an unforgettable chorus.Leading in to their anticipated follow up
release with a growing global online following, Astoria marks phase two for
PLTS as they establish themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting new rock
acts.
