The Plugged-In Band walk an unusual path. In a musical climate in which the term “worship music” is often used as a description of musical style, The Plugged-In Band commits to writing music that stretches and challenges them, while still being immediately enjoyable – the kind of songs having less in common with modern “worship bands” and more in common with the bands they themselves truly enjoy listening to.

In that sense, this is not your typical “worship music.” But if that term, in fact, has nothing to do with musical style, and everything to do with the posture of our hearts in the presence of Jesus Christ, then this IS worship music – unwaveringly and unabashedly. The lyrics don’t just point to a good God, they address Him, thank Him, beseech and glorify Him.

Hot on the heels of their newest album, “Watching, Praying” the band has been spending the bulk of their time developing an electrifying live show that is equal parts entertaining and sincere. This focus on playing live has lead to a more energized style of songwriting as well, and as the band prepares to release an EP of new material in the summer of 2011, they’re growing more and more excited about a batch of songs that harness the intensity of their live performances while staying true to the band’s worship-minded commitment.
