PNC
(Partners N Currency)
Hip hop Rap artist PNC have been steadily making a name for themselves as artist to be recognized. Brandon Hunter (BRAN MAN), Jamal Woodley (Mallee Mega), and Lamont Johnson (Mont the Magnificent) of Toledo, Oh fuse together separate styles and characters to create raw and talented collages they can truly call their own.
PNC’s sound began when the childhood friends would gather at Mr. Lamont’s house after long days at school to record their undiscovered talents on radio cassette tapes using homemade beats. The trio was puzzled when ask the question “what do you plan on doing with your music”? This was something they had never given much thought since they did their music for the love of what they now call their “SPORT”.
At the time with a name like “Childish Games”, they decided to hibernate for a year on an empty stomach to re-evaluate their position as artist. They vowed to remain partners and bring forth any revenue for studio time. Thus Partners N Currency was born. After their hibernation they immediately began to broadcast their hunger and thirst for the opportunity to let the world hear their stories.
The trio emerged to record 6 mix CDs in a three year span including their latest success album “Past Due” which was self written by PNC. The album also featured LIL Z (who is now performing on the Michael Jackson Tribute tour)on their smashing hit “Sorry” written by PNC. The group got chills down their spine after hearing the album and felt like the world was theirs for the taking. Their joy would immediately turn to sorrow when Bran Man gets incarcerated on assault and burglary charges putting a sudden pause to their music careers. Just when they felt like they were breaking into the industry Bran Man found it hard to forgive himself for letting his “Partners” down. But little did they know this was there big break. While incarcerated Bran Man Met CEO of GAIG ENTERTAINMENT who would soon take their hard work to soaring heights. They immediately began hanging out and meeting with celebrities while opening up for big name headliners such as Pretty Rickey, E-40 , and Too Short. They have also worked side by side and produced unreleased tracks with CEO of Beasta music and some of their known artist such as Jibbs and Cool Kid Katt. The CEO of GAIG would soon be
re -incarcerated putting PNC back at the starting line.
Despite their setbacks at times this thriving trio will let nothing get in their way of breaking new records and taking the hip hop industry to a new level it hasn’t seen since the last hip hop group “The Hot Boys”. Unlike most rap groups, PNC vow to stay together and thrive to produce platinum hit records. As there manager I Believe in them 100% and will always give them 100% of my support. I am very hard to please when it comes to any kind of music and I would buy their album before most mainstream artist currently in the business today. There are many people out there such as myself that would love to hear a young and talented hip hop group again. They have not only inspired me but motivated me to take them to the top AT ALL COST!
