Poet Jackson

22, Poet Jackson is an [Eastside] Long Beach, California indie hip-hop artist who fell in love with the craft at a young age. With his mother's and father love for Jazz, Gospel, and RnB. It slowly molded him into a true talent. While in High School, Jackson recorded a project titled Road 2 Suicide. An ode to his father sudden death in 2007; that held a strong grip on his heart.

At the age of 18, Jackson, recorded his first single City Lights with the help of Rod Jones of Roddy Ra Music/57 records as well as shoot as music video for the track. Together Jackson and Jones made two more stand out hits: Same Old Feeling and Living The Life. Their mission was to bring back RnB laced music with a strong hip-hop soul. Now going on 23, Jackson, has only grown more confident, solidifying his sound. This has enabled him to perform at events such as the Orange County Black History Parade, The City Lites Inc Marathon, Coast 2 Coast Live, and numerous other clubs and charity events.


Jackson's new prerogative towards his craft is to bring a twist to the rawness, that lies in the belly of the culture. 'I Stay True. Step Correct. Come With Bars. Provoke Thought and Have Fun. When you hear a Poet Jackson track,once the lingering feeling of nostalgia sets in, I want the listener to think one thing: This Is Hip-Hop.'
