"Our goal is delivering a sound that exfoliates and exercises the ears. We want to create a new 'familiar,' by pushing the periphery of your musical outlooks."

Biography

Polar Eye is a collection of humans dedicated to their craft. Portraying a sound that is both intricate and raw, the rock quartet pushes the boundaries of modern rock and pop with a vintage feel. Polar Eye embarked on their mission in the spring of 2010, and are looking to continue and grow for years to come. Their first EP, 19th Sunrise, has garnered a great response, and despite their young age as a band, Polar Eye has already broken onto the scene in a big way, playing for huge amounts of people at places like the Regent Theatre and Berklee Performance Center in Boston. Shortly after, the band began writing its second EP, entitled Hotel Velow. With the help of Kickstarter.com, Polar Eye was able to raise $2000 for their studio endeavors. This effort brought them to the renowned studio of Scott Riebling, producer and cohort of such bands as Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, and the Von Bondies. Here, Polar Eye was let loose into an array of amazing equipment and recording environments. Currently, the band has relocated to Asheville, NC, to pursue further distinction.

Along the Way

Written By: Polar Eye

I hope you get here before tomorrow
I got somethin' I think that you should see
It's not for keeps, it's yours to borrow
An opportunity I offer over and over

Everything we try
Along the way
Reminds me of our lives of yesterday

I can't befriend the 'you' of tomorrow
By then we've missed our chance for the only opportunity
Together we can break the cycle
If you're willing to try, you must be willing to try

Everything we try
Along the way
Reminds me of our lives

You left quite an impression on this place
With that stoic expression and it
Reminds me of our lives
Along the way

Company

Written By: Polar Eye

Company
Pleasantly arrives
Not for me
To the bedroom I retire
Oh, I don't want to be the attention of your center

Comfort me
With a reason I should care
Oh, quarantined
Meet your laughter with a stare
Oh, I don't want to be the attention of your center

Where did I
Where did I go wrong?
(Were you able to deny, were you able to deny, were you able?)
Able I
Have been all along

We belong
We belong inside
What do you want from me?
I'll never cater your desires
Oh, I don't wanna be the attention of your center!

Where did I
Where did I go wrong?
(Were you able to deny, were you able to deny, were you able?)
Able I
Have been all along

Company
Uninvited company
I don't wanna be the attention, I don't wanna be your
Remedy
For your own pathetic life

I don't wanna be the attention of your center
I don't wanna be the attention of your center
I don't wanna be
Your company

Today

Written By: Polar Eye

Slow arrival to the scene
To greet the eyes
Of my enigmatic dream
How could you raise a reaction?
When I never even felt a fraction of your flesh
All my instincts
Commend these thoughts
Of fascination
Maybe this will make you want

Would you be mine today?
Or even tonight?
Without my name or my intention?
Would you be mine today?
Without a proper preface?

Eye to eye or so it seems
Even though
We are miles in between
Your stare is paralyzing
And I can't help but think about you
Every day
I don't need no arrow
From fable's bow
To make me wonder
Wonder if I'll ever know

Would you be mine today?
Or even tonight?
Without my name or my intention?
Would you be mine today?
Without a proper preface?

The screen is not enough

Would you be mine today?
Or even tonight?
Without my name or my intention?
Would you be mine today?
Without a proper preface?

Loiter

Written By: Polar Eye

Sheets of stone appear above
Hide away your delicate bravado
'Cause I wanna sing you to sleep
Once again
Because I've spent a long time hummin'

I never tried to
Apologize
I didn't feel the need

I'm prepared for what you'll say
Shouldn't delay, won't be in vain
Just one word will end this bout
Then sing me to sleep, once again
Because it's been a long time comin'

Do you ever try to apologize?
Do you feel the need to compromise?

Well maybe I've waited too long
Have you ever tried to compromise?

September

Written By: Polar Eye

On and off
Fleeting Lights
Flickering across the way
Feelin' high
When we were
Sittin on a rooftop swimmin' in the sky
Dreamin' of a getaway
September, come to me
I'll hold you until the day arrives

Here we go
To and fro
Pardon all the times you gotta
Wait for my reply
On another someday
Always for hire, I require
Your time and your fire

I'm waiting patiently for
Another taste of you
In spite of what's behind
The lights are gone, don't fear

Here we go
To and fro
Pardon all the times you gotta
Wait for my reply
On another someday
Always for hire, I require
Your time and your fire

On and off
Goes your mind
September

Here we go
To and fro
Pardon all the times you gotta
Wait for my reply
On another someday
Always for hire, I require
Your time and your fire
