Bio

The Los Angeles musical collective known as Pollyn is comprised of vocalist Genevieve Artadi, guitarist Anthony Cava, and sound creator Adam Jay Weissman. Featured on Urb’s Next 100 in 2007, the band has remixed several high profile acts, including Gorillaz, Buffalo Daughter, Liquid Liquid and most recently, Health. Their debut self-produced/full-length album This Little Night was mixed by heavyweights Kristian Riley and Dave Cooley (Silversun Pick Ups, Darker My Love and Jaylib).

This Little Night marks a milestone for the native Los Angeles trio known as Pollyn. Riding high on the acclaim of their EP Songs For Sale, the new album finds the band expanding their musical palette and honing its craftsmanship. This Little Night sounds simultaneously fresh and classic, moody and lush, an alluring mixture of analogue warmth and digital experimentation in the form of eleven sad songs to make you sublimely happy.

The musical collective known as Pollyn is comprised of vocalist Genevieve Artadi, guitarist Anthony Cava, and sound creator Adam Jay Weissman. Featured on Urb’s Next 100 in 2007, the band has remixed several high profile acts, including the Gorillaz (D.A.R.E Pollyn remix), Buffalo Daughter (Socks, Drugs & Rock n’ Roll Sample208 remix) and Liquid Liquid (Optimo sample208 remix).

Functioning as an artists collective as much as a band, the trio found themselves delving into several interesting side projects before embarking on a full-length album. Their collaborations with trendsetting companies like Nike, Stussy and Vans utilized Adam’s writing and directing skills, and Anthony’s editing skills, while Genevieve contributed music and song compositions.

This Little Night is a testament to the band’s rapid evolution. Driving B-Boy beats and electronic flourishes, earthy vocals that evoke Billie Holiday and impeccably seductive guitar work make for smartly crafted pop music. It’s rough enough around the edges to keep your attention and catchy enough to make you want to hit repeat.
