Bio

Brewing in the sweaty rehearsal rooms, and dark, smoky venues for over six years, Brisbane four piece Polyvinyl are now gearing up for the release of their debut long player,
The Last Thing You’ll Ever Do…

Polyvinyl first stepped onto the stage in 1999, and soon forged a reputation as a force to be reckoned with. Fiercely delivered live performances found the group more often than not upstaging “headliner” acts, and with booking agents for Brisbane’s premier venues taking notice Polyvinyl were soon being called in to play their own shows. Within two years the group became regulars in the local scene, not to mention having the great honor of gracing the stage of Brisbane’s now demolished Festival Hall, twice. The following years saw Polyvinyl playing countless shows, and stretching their musical boundaries to find a sound of their own.

In mid 2004, after the release of their single 3 A.M. Liverpool St. the group and original drummer Liam Moore parted ways. With the recording of their debut album on the horizon Polyvinyl wasted no time in recruiting close friend and drummer extraordinaire Chris Absell to fill the position. Within two months, and with producer Mark Wells on board (who had previously worked with the Ronnie Wood Band), The Last Thing You’ll Ever Do…was well on it’s way.

2005 - Eight months after tracking began, Polyvinyl emerged with The Last Thing You’ll Ever Do…the album moves from the drunken pop swagger of Bleeding Out, the prog rock grace of My Miserable Baby, and the acoustic gem Bring On The Rain, all delivered with true Polyvinyl poise. With a fantastic debut album and a live show not to be missed, Polyvinyl are truly prepared to rule 2006, the year of The ‘Vinyl.
