Bio

If you are looking for a fun energetic group to hit you with the Truth and keep it Hip-Hop...look no further! You have just found Poor Legacy the Live'st Gospel/Hip-Hop/Neo-Soul band! They are a band that originated in little ol' Waterbury, CT at a great house of God called House of Joy & Praise! POOR LEG.A.CY which derives from 2 Corinthians 8:9 stands for: For you know the grace of our lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich. They formed in 2001 while two of the band members were still in high school. But when God calls you gotta answer! The Lyricist Nailz (named for his gray pigment in his nails for one thing) has been rhym'n since the age of 12. Back when Hip-Hop had to have flavor and skills. He has evolved with the times and so has his craft. While at the crazy teenage years of 14 the Keyboardist C-Note was breaking ground as God deemed it so for Poor Legacy. (when we say breaking ground, we mean it!) C-Note plays with so much passion that once while performing for Vicki Winans he got so into it the keyboard caught the Holy Ghost and jumped away! (good thing he is so smooth, he never skipped a note!) You can't hear Poor Legacy without hearing The Rhythm...truly The Rhythm! One can only compare his tenacious on the drums to that of "Animal" from the Muppets. You will bob your head and move even before a word is said listening to the way God powerfully moves the sticks in The Rhythm's hands. Together with the creativeness they have been blessed with to write and compose original music, under "Poor Legacy Productions" they are a force. 2004 GospelFest Finalist; they have already played one of the world's greatest venues...Madison Square Garden! (and Rock'd it with bad microphones!) They continue to play many other venues, churches, and other community functions. After years of molding their gifts and (never-mind a theft of music tracks), they are finally set to release their first recorded full length album in 2009. In Hip-Hop originality and presence means so much, to hear them is to love em' to see them play is another!
