Poor Man's War is:

Poor Man's War was formed in 2008 but it's roots lie in the early 90's Gilman St. scene. PMW has spent 2010 playing the Bay Area punk rock dens and dives including their old stomping grounds at 924 Gilman St.
No matter who else is on the bill with them, their peers and audience usually agree that their sound is "a little different". Drawing their inspiration from late 70's punk, early hardcore, post-punk and a heavy dose of guitar driven Pop; Poor Man's War points out that it's o.k. to get political and just be a fun Rock n' Roll band.
Poor Man's War debut EP "Everybody's Poor" is set to be released by the band in January of 2011. Poor Man's War has maintained a D.I.Y. approach to releasing it's music, art direction and branding, as well as creating hand made merchandise like limited edition patches and t-shirts.
Some of the band's performance highlights include:
• Performing outdoors at the Life Cycle AIDS benefit in SF, CA.
• Playing one of the final shows at Dreamland, Hayward CA.
• Opening for old school punks No Thanks @ Red Hat, Concord CA.
• Playing with Emily's Army at 924 Gilman St. Berkeley, CA.
