Poor Michael

Poor Michael

 Plymouth, England, GBR

We play Arabic Danger funk (psych blues with funk and ska undertones), it makes your ears burn and your groin feel unusual.

We are 3 lads who are completely passionate about what we do, and would love to play to a wider audience.

As three students, the time we spend playing is spent well and we have the best times focussing on composing and perfecting our sound. We have played all over the country for the last 2 years, from a mates garage parties in Plymouth to Cargo, Monto Water Rats and Dublin castle in central London.

Unlike other bands, we dont take pride in moody photoshoots or boat shoes, we just make the music we feel sounds good at the time. And its been going down really well so far....

Early in 2011 we were invited by BBC Introducing to the BBC Intro Masterclass at Maida Vale and Abbey Road which was brilliant for us to see the heavier side of the music industry. We try to do everything on our own with things such as merchandise, promotion, advertising and general gigging which is one of the best bits about being in a band and being mates (though like any band, we are just 3 unorganised loud kids).

Our influences range from Queens Of the Stoneage to the Arctic Monkeys, from Frank Zappa to The Backhanded Compliments, from stoner rock to ska punk.

1 E.P released, Self titled "Poor Michael" 5 track, and have a tasty debut album in the process of being recorded.

We have been played extensively by BBC Radio introducing and Radio 6.

Set List

we have around 30 songs and can chop and change to suit the feel of the gig!
