Bio

The recent introduction of Joel Henderson to the singer/songwriter world has made a good first impression. Growing up listening to 60's pop hooks and motown harmonies has transitioned into a love for folk and indie music, creating something intellectual and melodic. Under the alias Poor Nameless Boy he performs acoustically or with a small group, showcasing those memorable hooks hidden in an indie-folk sound.

Poor Nameless Boy's music is a way to show the heart of the songwriter; believing that lyrics have a fighting chance to teach, educate, and get the mind wondering about how we are to live our lives as a positive influence to those we care and don't care for. His songs are very personal, speaking honesty about love, life, and our changing hearts in a busy world.

Poor Nameless Boy released the first full length album "The Activity Book" in April 2013, which features the track "Backyard Lemon Tree", which tells the tale of a flight across borders to win the heart of a California girl. Other notable tracks include "Start In Summerland", "Trampoline" and "Phantom Bell" which give an eclectic example of the musical range of indie/folk styles.

In only a short period of time, Poor Nameless Boy has been honored to play on behalf of SaskMusic during the CCMA's, Junos Week, and Folk Alliance International, while also performing at Sask Sampler, Cathedral Arts Festival, and many other benefit shows and TV performances.
