Poor Pilate - Oh my goodness. The first time I saw these guys they were playing first at a street party on what must have been the hottest day of the year. Now I see them on some pretty excellent line-ups and I look forward to seeing them again soon. It's not hard to imagine them bringing down a packed house at a place like Stubbs in Austin giving Kings of Leon or the Avett Brothers a run for their money. - Houston Press

When David Lascoe, lead singer & songwriter of Poor Pilate, sits down at his keyboard, the audience holsters their six shooters, tosses back their shot of whiskey and presses pause on the poker game; all in an effort to fully appreciate Lascoe's saloon piano sound and the solid Rock'n'Roll accompaniment of Richard, Jack & Talley. Lascoe's lyrical subject matter ranges from heart & relationship-broken woefulness to contemplative social observation. The gravel-filled vocal sounds of David Lascoe add a Southern blues element to Poor Pilate's sound as well.
