Bio

In January 2005, four boys who lived together in Brooklyn and called themselves friends decided to form a band and started writing music together. The very first day they wrote two songs, Hurtin' Kind, and Oh Well, which they decided to record and release on 7"-inch vinyl. Currently at work on their debut album (due Sept. '05), the Wheelies have been gaining serious word-of-mouth buzz by circulating cardboard-bound handwritten CDR's of their Hurtin' Kind ep as well as frequent open-door rehearsals at their studio in Williamsburg. Their sound can best be described as a Kinks-meets-Wire sort of rock n' roll, to use the all-too-common "one band meets another" cliche. The thing that sets them apart though is a sound that's all their own. Their songs have a very familiar feel to them, yet always sound fresh and interesting. They SOUND like they're having fun because they are! Everything you hear is real. Honest. Sincere. And with an energy that'll make your heart beat real fast. Think early Beatles. Steeped in percussion. Each part tastefully complimenting one another. Background and three-part harmonies. These boys are fearless. They ain't even afraid to pull out the occasional acoustic guitar and tambourine. All they really care about is making great music.
