Bio

Very few times in music history do two of the strongest musical personalities collide to make a powerhouse duo.
Introducing Positive Perception.
Positive Perception is more than a group it’s a movement, a way of life, a personality.
Natalie Fernandez and Johnny Matrik stand for more than just making music, but creating an experience and sending a message that will transcend. Their musical background has earned them high respect and recognition within the music industry.

Natalie Fernandez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She’s been in the industry since she was born, becoming a singer at the tender age of 15. Coming from a family of celebrated and admired performers, she quickly became part of the elite in the industry. Attending the legendary Berklee College of Music, she was chosen to share the stage with musical giants such as Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Ruben Blades, Juan Luis Guerra and many more. During her time in the prestigious school, she recorded 2 albums one of which was called “Latin Tango Jazz” the first in its genre.
After she graduated, she quickly began performing with a Miami-based funk group called Fusik. There she met the other half of Positive Perception.

Johnny Matrik was born in Brooklyn, NY, into a long line of revered and brilliant church leaders. Born with a naturally gifted musical ear, he picked up the piano at the tender age of 10 and began leading worship at the age of 12. He knew with discipline he would become the best, he enlisted and was accepted to the highly regarded United States Marine Corps. Doing two tours in Iraq, he defended our country and became a leader in his fellow Marines’ eyes. After 5 years in the Marines, he returned to Miami to dedicate his life to music and inspiring others. He helped mastermind and create Fusik, extensively touring the East Coast and recorded the Bboy classic “Only a Few Are Sick”. There he met the other half of Positive Perception.

The equation of intellectual M.C. and strong lead vocalist would lead to the birth of Positive Perception. After their collaboration on the Fusik album, they quickly set up camp in California, where they currently reside.
Working aggressively on their debut album, “A Voice In A World of Echoes” due by the end of this year. This powerhouse duo will lead and leave a lasting mark in the music industry’s history
