Posterra

 Sorrento, Florida, USA
BandRockAlternative

Stuck-in-your-head choruses, epic buildups, and all out guitar solos. Posterra is indie rock. With a sound people are comparing to My Morning Jacket, Manchester Orchestra, Kings of Leon, and The Vaccines, they have constructed a live show that is to die for.

Biography

Posterra began playing together in the waning months of 2010. Crammed into the living room of a double wide, they developed a sound of their own. Once a set list was prepared the band began playing local shows and in less than six months shared the stage with Less Than Jake, The Supervillains, The Rival Sons, Tigerweather, and Alias Punch without recording a single song. After winning a Battle of the Bands in May the band cashed in their prize; three hours at a local recording studio resulting in a two song live demo. Despite being unmastered the demo has been featured on Indie Shuffle and received international radio airplay.

In July 2011 Posterra began work on a six song EP. Trading studio time for landscaping work, the boys of Posterra recorded with one of Florida’s finest mixers and engineers, Brian Robertson. The six songs were self-produced and sent off to be mastered by Michael Fuller of Fullersound inc (Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Eagles, etc.). Their debut self-titled EP was released in January 2012.

After releasing the EP in January 2012 the band continued playing shows and gaining a following. During April 2013 the band announced their lead singer, Tyler Crane, would be moving and thus leaving Posterra. Never wavering, Posterra’s bass player, Jack Norsworthy, took over lead vocals. Continuing forward as a trio with guitarist Josh Smullin and drummer Chris Rayner. Posterra stepped into the studio once again to record their sophomore record, “The Wolfbranch EP.” The self-produced, four-track EP was recorded at John Blanche Recording Studio in Longwood, FL and was released August 6, 2013.

Lyrics

Say Traveler

Written By: Tyler Crane and Josh Smullin

Say traveler
You've been stuck on this road too long
And you're searching your way back home to the east land
Say traveler
Have you got any words of advice?
Will any of this suffice?
To the gambler or the hangman
How long have you been on this road?
How long have you been on this road?

Say traveler
You've been stuck on this road too long
And you're searching your way back home to the east land
Say traveler
Have you got any words of advice?
Will any of this suffice?
To the gambler or the hangman
How long have you been on this road?
How long have you been on this road?

You left home on your own
Didn't know where you're going now
And you'll find your peace of mind
You're long gone and you're outta sight
I said you're outta sight
You left home on your own
Didn't know where you're going now
And you'll find your peace of mind
You're long gone and you're outta sight

Say traveler
You've been stuck on this road too long
And you're searching your way back home to the east land

Open Your Eyes

Written By: Tyler Crane

The skies eyes are closed again tonight
I wish this darkness would break away
There's no moon or stars shining bright
Just that cold black curtain is all that remains
See I'm tired of this cold
Yeah, it's getting old
I think it's time for change
So I'll wait for you to open your eyes
And see me bright in the sky
Here I'll stand
Open your eyes
Now the days feel just the same
All the clouds they sit and hide the sun
I wish that I could feel your rays
But this weather just won't let it be done
This is where I'll be
This is where I'll stand
This is where I'll be
Waiting for you
Open your eyes
Open your eyes

Part Two

Written By: Tyler Crane

Why do I let my heart get in the way
Even though I know you'll, you'll never stay
Then you leave me here
Holding onto nothing
Why did I ever think that maybe there was something
So know I'm sitting here
The fool that fell from way too high
And now I'm stuck down here again
No, my heart said yes please
But my head said no
I should have listened now I have to let you go
So heed my advice
Don't hold back or think twice
Before you start to slip
Cause when you fall that's the end of it
So know I'm sitting here
The fool that fell from way too high
And now I'm stuck down here again
No, my heart said yes please
But my head said no
I should have listened now I have to let you go

Don't Mess Around

Written By: Tyler Crane and Josh Smullin

Momma and Daddy don't know where you go
Brother and Sisters are the ones who told
They don't know how far you'll go
How far you will go
How far you will go
My baby don't mess around because
She knows what she does, she does, she does
And I know what she does, she does because
She won't let me down
She won't let me down
Wake up in the morning don't know what to do
Turn to your clock it's half past two
Roll back over then I see you
There, I see you
There, I see you
My baby don't mess around because
She knows what she does, she does, she does
And I know what she does, she does because
She won't let me down
She won't let me down

Done

Written By: Tyler Crane

You were my everything
Now I'm contemplating
You were my heart
The burning thing
Now it's just a cold
Now I'm the lone one fighting back tears
Loosing her was my greatest fear
Laid it down, gave it my all
Swear to God if I receive your call
Won't speak, won't breath
Won't say anything
Won't speak, won't break
Cause I'm done with you
Yeah I'm done with you
I said I'm done, I said I'm done
Yeah I'm done with you
How could you just turn away
Not even think to look back
If you think that I'm gonna sit and linger
You know you're wrong about that
Now I'm the lone one fighting back tears
Loosing her was my greatest fear
Laid it down, gave it my all
Swear to God if I receive your call
Won't speak, won't breath
Won't say anything
Won't speak, won't break
Cause I'm done with you
Yeah I'm done with you
I said I'm done, I said I'm done
Yeah I'm done with you
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I don't see what I used to see
I loved you once before
Don't expect me to answer
When you knock on my door
I told you once before
That I'm gone for good
Don't try to say those things
You know that you shouldn't

Wise Man

Written By: Josh Smullin and Tyler Crane

A wise man once said to me
Pick your head up and roll up your sleeves
Knock you down once, knock you down twice
But it's not going to get to me
Peace on Earth is such a cliche
It's easier to dream, easier to pray
Go ahead, yeah roll away
You know it won't look any better if you stay
No it won't look any better if you stay
Too close to the edge
You need to get back
I want you to fly away
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
The Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
We're all wrapped up without a crown
If the seeing isn't evil
Than the evil is the sound
If you look, you'll see smoke on the ground
But don't let the fire burn you down
You're too close to the ground
You need to get up
I want you to fly away
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
The Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
This is the sky
We left the Earth below
